This and 'Suspended in Dusk' are my favorite TON songs (the 'Out of the Ashes' version). Listening to this live version makes me think of 'Run to You' by Bryan Adams when they go to the two breakdown parts. Kenny's tone is nearly identical to Adams' studio version of 'Run to You'.
Weird. They (TON) probably had a good laugh over that.
Am I the only one who Moonspell reminds Type O Negative? No like that one is better than the other one... it's just that I think is Type O Negative like the best band of this gothic style before the 2000's and Moonspell like the best one of this age.
@celobutcher PanterA and Type O Negative were all good friends with eachother. They also toured alot. So im sure Type O was on tour with PanterA at this time..
I love this song. Always have. I think I'll pour a glass of wine and have a TON day. There are many days I just sit and listen to them all day long. Peter is missed. Wish I could see them live just one more time.
I thought this song really kicked butt on the "Mortal Kombat" soundtrack, so it's really a treat to see it performed live with a multi-keyboardist, which I'm really impressed as your sound is so guitar-oriented! Bravo and great job!
@Hyshinara Ohh. Nice feature! Now that I came to think about how the other way around would be, yeah. But hell, that was 1995, did you have that on your camera? Or it's a recent software feature? o.o
@Edhunterbasse Actually, it's the other way around, the rest of the band except for Pete thought it was gay, lol. He was the reason why they recorded the song and played it.
of all the times i've seen them live, they never played this one. once before a show pete asked my friends and i if we had any special requests and this was one of the ones i threw out there along with nettie and be my druidess. of course he wouldn't and went with wolfmoon instead. :} thanks much for posting this. happy birthday, pete. <3 r.i.p. <3
The reason that they did not play this song in many many years was that some of the guys hated it. I think i was Josh?!? It is written in the interview in the Bloddy Kisses re-issue (the one with the bonus cd) booklet. A good read by the way...
This was Type O Negative at their peak - in terms of their abilities on stage. It's so evident that 15 years certainly took a toll on them... and unfortunately, Pete paid the ultimate price.
Beautiful video, man. They should never have stopped playing this song, period.
