  • Haha this was 2 days before I was born lol.

  • Is that a national canadian lottery?

  • @PTH4Fun

Yes it is, PTH. Lotto 6/49 has been running here in Canada since June 1982. It had it's 25th Anniversary in 2007, and it's 30th Anniversary is June 2012(and don't get me or anyone else here started on all the 2012 garbage, okay? I don't wanna hear it. ;)).

  • 3rd major jackpot lotto max for ontario...and another huge lotto 649 jackpot for ontario 15 million. 2 bucks for bc...or that what it seems.

  • Ontario bags its 3rd $50 Million Lotto MAX Jackpot in a row WTF. and as for the lotto 649 .....yep you guessed it a major jackpot for ONTARIO Lotto 649 jackpot of 15 million. and a 5plus bonus number as well for ontario Saturday, April 23, 2011 6/6 $15,347,907.80 1 Ont

  • 2011 Millionaire life jackpot was one in Quebec. go figure. and if it was not Quebec it would have been in Ontario. why is it that all major jackpots are always won in these 2 provinces...never once in BC. BCLC gives this answer "its because more people play in these 2 provinces" what a load of crap. and if anyone does manage to win a fairly large jackpot in BC its ALWAYS among a huge GROUP. what the hell is going on here? for bc the lotto is just another hidden tax.

  • How about a class action suit to force them to have a live drawing on tv with a real person digging into a see through glass bowl with numbers in it . let them pull out the numbers and you will see so many people winning everyday. and have another person holding the glass bowl with their arms full extended so there is no third party magic acts going on. slow theses videos down and you will see the balls shooting from the bottom up then rolls down. way to fast for normal viewing. i rest my case.

  • it's rigged thats why they don't show it on tv anymore. if you look at this video clip the ball spinning around is sealed in what look like balls droping down is really balls shooting up then down creating the effect of balls droping down. ever wonder why they stop selling tickets one hour before the drawing? just enough time for the lottery super computers to weed out numbers not played then they use those un winning numbers as your random numbers being droped.

  • @stilleavy : STFU you always win it so sit your ass down : from QUEBEC

  • mayby we should start an investigation, in WHY its always won in ontario

  • Draws for the past decade are definitely RIGGED!. Ontario win the big jackpots way too often. BC and Alberta are blacklisted especially Vancouver that have yet to win any jackpot over $2m in 20yrs! The dollar won ratio is ridiculously lopsided favoring Ontario which is proof this game is RiGGED.

  • Tim Weber and entertainment reporter Jacintha Wesselingh were fired this week, along with roughly 100 other staff.

  • do they still show it on tv ? if yes which channel ?

  • Tom Gibney played the announcer of that tabloid news show on Network (the one in which Peter Finch cries, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore") years earlier. He sounded different in that movie than he does here - and his role in that movie was uncredited. (It was shot partially in Toronto, though.)

  • does anyone know how i can find the lotto 649 theme song in this video? thank you

  • the theme song can be found through the ILC (interprovincial lottery corp.) through CTV in Toronto.

  • 5/5 - I like this video.

  • listen to the music at :14 seconds. it sounds like cheesy porn!

  • I wish they still televised the draws.

Smoking in metro cabs?! Oh my how times have changed!

  • Anyone have an old Wintario drawing that took place in some small Ontario hockey arena?

  • There were many (over 647 draws) -- many of them were held in areas across Ontario. If you can tell me the town, I have about 200 Wintario draws on video tape. i will be uploading some of them here. Post a reply and maybe I can tell you if I have it.

  • Did Wintario ever go to Carleton Place? I thought I saw pictures of the draw in the town's local paper in 1986 or 1987.

    Thank you.

  • Wintario was in Carelton Place on March 18, 1982 (that draw was at Carelton Place High School) They did visit a 2nd time on May 8, 1986, that was at Carelton Place and District Community Centre.

  • Thanks for the info on Wintario drawing in Carleton Place.

Did Wintario ever hold a draw in Almonte?

    Again, thank you.

  • yes, Wintario was in Almonte on November 20, 1980 at James Naismith Memorial Public School. Lanark County invited Wintario.

  • lotto 6/49 is the most fixed game in history all the big prizes are won in Ontario chek the stats.

  • I agree I lve in Atlantic Canada it pisses me off that the jackpot is won by Ontarioers

  • Use your brain......Toronto alone has over 2 million people....think how many buy tickets....the odds are that someone out of that huge group will win. I am glad someone from first nations won the super max...nice couple....and they said they will give back to their community!

  • @vinylelvis1 : if THATS the case its NOT fair to others, it meens that in ontario they will surely win it ? and your logic makes no sence cuz in quebec we are 6 million how come we RARELY win then? its just fixed cuz the draw is made IN ONTARIO

  • @vinylelvis1 : you make NO sense cuz if THATS the case we here in quebec is over 6 millions how come WE dont win it then????

  • @Macduck92 It pisses me off when a Coaster wins the lottery.

  • I miss the drawing of the 6/49 numbers. It made it look official instead of reading the newspaper or checking the web.

  • It's Fanny LaMagerie! The most famous button pusher of Canadian television in the 80s!

  • The largest provinces (BC, ON, QC) each have their own lotteries just as a US state would, while the Maritime and Prarie provinces each share their own respective lottery group. Each sell 6/49 and Super 7, but also some of their own games.

And you'll notice the minimum jackpot in this video is $10 million. Something you won't see nowadays even with the toonie price. Blame it on Super 7, and the comparitively larger jackpots in the US.

  • Neat.

  • Wow, save a few more wrinkles, Tom Gibney still looks and sounds exactly the same.

  • CHUM Television aired that similar broadcast known as "Ontario Lottery Tonight" from 2003-2005 which only displayed the Lotto 6/49 numbers on Wednesday's and Saturday's and Lotto Super 7 draws on Friday's.

  • I think that this station was part of Baton Broadcasting Inc. Why is that CTV ID in place at the time?

  • He's not changed an OUNCE!!!

  • Tom Gibney......He's the man!!!!

  • Ah, CFTO was so much better back then.
