@legalglitz She had some problems at her gym I think, I know that she ended up having to retire from elite, went back to L10 and ended up finding a new gym with Mary-Lee Tracy. She competed in 2010 & 2011 Nastia liukin cups and is now at Alabama. Hoping she wins VT title in NCAAs this year!
i have never seen a better performed DTY...i don't see where the judges found deductions in that vault other than the tiny bit of crossed legs during the second twist-ish...she was directly on center, line fully round in the double twist, and spot on the landing...great job here kayla williams!!!
@kvha1316 well she qualified to the elite level in 2009 and right before the nationals she had her birthday which made her age eligable for senior competition

the execution score for the DTY is insane - 9.175 is just inexcusable. slightly bent knees & untidy ankles on the second twist, but other than that, PERFECT! i just don't get it...
But the bigger problem is that the E score for her first vault and second vault were less than 3 tenths apart.....this code and the judging in general are a joke. The judges have it in their minds that a 10 is dead and that is a problem!
@LoveGym96 Hong Un Jong (2008 vault Olympic champion) is still competing and Alicia Sacramone has returned to competition (and her Rudi is even better!).
WOW. I'd hate to see a "perfectly" executed routine if this only scored a 9.2 E score. It would be so robotic and ridiculous. I'm thinking the deductions were:
0.1 for being crooked on the horse
0.1 for bent arms on the horse
0.1 for tiny pike
0.1 for crossed feet
0.1 for feet apart on landing
0.1 for "low" landing (I don't agree with this)
Can't find another deduction... Darn those judges.
where were the .8 in deductions for the DTY? i'd love to see the score card.... a little for legs seperated on landing, maybe a tiny amount for bent arms on the horse, a tiiiny form break when she was preparing for landing that was practically invisible. maybe .3-.4? I don't see it. GREAT vault.
me too... but all the E-Scores are ridiculously low. At least in the women's competion. I mean, only 2 9s were given during ALL the finals. this one and youna dufournet's for her 2nd vault. imo they should be a little bit higher which would make it more realistic. I don't like the fact that the 9 somehow seems to be the new 10 o.o
@Holycani They used to do the same thing to Dominique Dawes. How in the hell did Shannon Miller get a gold on FX during the '93 Worlds and Dominique didn't even qualify?! Dom was a million times better than Shannon on floor. Oh well. Past is past.
i wish she stayed senior elite and didnt retire to do NCAA

These girls are very good, but vault will never be the same without gymnasts like Cheng Fei, Sacramone, Chusovitina, Zamo..
