i think they use artists to do the lip syncing for the benefit of the audiences watching on tv. I guess to make the artist sound like they do in the music videos. I'm sure she actually performed for the live audience as the sound was blocked out.

She's definitely lip-syncing but I think it's just the show format cuz I watched a lot of artists on this show and they're lip-syncing too - Mandy Moore, Christina Aguilera etc. While she's lip-syncing, there are plenty of clips of her actually singing AND dancing to this song so no biggie. It's not like she couldn't sing live (see right hand panel lol) or was Manila Vanilli with it-no she wasn't

I bought the single when it came out in the UK and went to see the movie, a catchy song with a great message - its SO FUSTRATING knowing that her career would have got so much bigger, it annoys me that we are only left to wonder what could have been - I miss her badly, listening to her music and watching clips is a comfort...no matter how many years pass, its still hard accepting she's gone.
