@MrNadseven hay i only tuned in for the last really fast part but i got everything eles down ... what u wanna do is put ur finger on the 12 fret but not the open space u wanna hot the bards in between the frets 12 n 13 and dont hold them just put ur finger lightly on the strings i usually take my fingers off the harmonic after i git it and with this song u need to but u can keep ur finger on the harmonic on any other song ... it will still ring hope this helped
not bad, i knew most of this but i need to touch up some of the parts.. But when I do that F major or w/e i bar it with my middle finger and use my index finger with it. little quicker in my opinion. nice tutorial!
I can't seem to get harmonics out of the 3rd fret? Is there something wrong with my guitar or technique? I can get harmonics easy out of the 12th, 7th, and 5th frets but not the 3rd...
Well what you could do is barley lay your finger across the 3rd fret and as soon as you strum quickly remove your fingers so they dont mute the strings, which will bring out the harmonic.
Yhanks for the help. It does bring out the harmonic. It's still not as clear as I'd like it to be, but I will continue to work on it... Thanks again for your time...
hey man everything sounds great. I was just wondering how you get those harmonics to sound so well. Mine dont sound as loud or as crisp. Can ya give me any tips for improving on getting those harmonics. Much appreciated.
well first make sure your exactly in tune. you want to very lightly lay your finger on the strings. when you hit the string with you pic or "right hand" almost instantly remove your left hand! Hopefully that helps!!
the reason people dont like this version is cause the way you usually do slaps and such, is instead of barring, from underneath, like we normally would, you bar from the top down. liek in standard tuning, you would be barring EAD, in that order, with your finger pointed down. its just easier to do it that way, if you can be quick. cause its easier to bar liek that, than do an A chord formation on the DAD strigns to get the sound right. hopefully that made some sense.
No.... They dont think that i play it right! I got into a big argument with the guy who created the tab. You can check it out on Rootwitch in the tablature discussion.. about ritual dance
With respect to the 4th fret vs. 9th fret harmonic error you mention, that's really a matter of performance. i.e. it's the way Michael plays it. The fact is, it's the same harmonic (2nd octave + major third?), just a different node and the ninth fret (second node?) is easier to play.
thanks man i really like your cover of this song!!! Sounds damn good. PS im not really that great with the theory on the guitar ive only been playing for about 5 yrs. finally got out of the whole metal genre.
the slap comes b4 the harmonic
and its the 12 n 5 fret harmonic

This is great. Most helpful. But if your whole guitar were visible in-screen it would help more.

Isn't the first harmonic supposed to be an up-strum instead of down? I mean, near the ending that same harmonic ends up on an up-strum.

What crap. Why can't he tune his guitar BEFORE he turns the camera on?
guitarslim56 3 years ago
Its so people can understand which string goes up and which string goes down.... And if people dont have a tuner... They can just match mine Dumbass!

guitar if you dont wanna listen to it, just skip forward.
