what great memories seeing these- thankyou so much! and the quality is great considering when these were aired. by any chance do you know what the actor jake has done since- im sure ive seen him elsewhere since aw- it will drive me crazy lol
Even though you couldn't hear it, what a lovely closing with so many of the past shots of Ada (Constance). Lordy, I'd sh!t twice and die if a show today even began to think about doing something like this. The grand days of daytime are well behind us!
I'M SO GLAD I CAME ACROSS UR VIDEOS..I think the sound is just fine and pretty good quailty..OH How i loved and grew up on A.W..I use to sit beside my mom as young girl with my tea she would make me and cuddle up & watched the show with her and been a fan til the very last episode..then the replaced the best soap with that stupid PASSIONS!
I never understood why they didn't show Clarice remembering Ada through old clips? Her father Charlie was Ada's late husband. I remember alot of scenes with Ada & Clarice.
Also, the soap lost its history, saddenly people would have no idea the former actors would be. But Ada's brother would have bbe the perfect visitor for her death along with Alice (J. Courtney)
My ONLY tee=niney gripe about the old regulars who came back to honor Ada, they didn't even try to bring back her brother Sam (Jordan Charney) and his sassy wife LaHoma (Ann Wedgeworth). I cried enough over this, but with those two present, it just would have been so appropriate and a "full circle".
That's because the tape is from 1993 and is before High Def and surround sound. It's either take what I have or don't have anything at all. I'm not a studio but an AW fan sharing what's in my collection. At least it's more than watchable. Many other clips on youtube are blurry with crappy sound quality. I can't help that the tape has aged.
"Nancy? I know you can't tell anybody who you are or anything. But if anybody asks you about your mother, you tell them that you were one of the two most precious things in the world to her."
Oh my God, let me get off this machine crying at three o'clock in the morning...
I believe you're right. I wasn't watching then when that actual scene took place, but I think I remember reading somewhere online that she indeed had to be hidden for some reason or other.
This was so great to watch! I grew up with Another World and some of these characters felt so close to me. I was a little disappointed that there were not more past scenes with Victoria Wyndham and Constance Ford; there were SO many other great ones that I would have loved to see.
Wow!! Absolutely the best 10 minutes of video though I have to admit that I lost it at the 8:30 mark. Thanks for including the montage of Constance Ford/Ada photos during the end credits.
Thanks for your kind comments. I really appreciate them, especially coming from you, a true AW devotee. :)
I agree that the scene is tearjerking, a true treasure of talent.
I intend to add more clips to this storyline, which shows a still grieving Rachel coping w/ the loss of her mother, reaching out to Iris & Ian. I have to find them though. I'm going through my tapes but it's taking forever. It feels almost impossible to get the clips to play in succession. I'm getting close though...

When Ada died, Bay City lost its foundation and crumbled into the sea.

It was sad.. but not as sad as Mona Kane's death or Tom Horton's, and course Mac's. they could have use some sad music.

I have to turn up the volume on my speakers real loud, and then it's still garbled and there is background noise.
