well here in Texas God of war 3 was a big deal for midnight release.. it is one of the greatest series you will ever play and besides Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 there is no other game that has better graphics.. but besides graphics the gameplay is amazing and the story is great.. a must buy

Just because there's barely any people at that midnight launch, doesn't mean the game sucks.IGN gave the game a 9 out of 10, Gamespot also gave it a 9, Machinima gave it a 10 and Xplay gave it a 5 out of 5 stars.

I didn't know best buy did Midnight launches, I would bet most go to gamestop just for the extras. First person in line wins a kratos mask and like 3 posters and if you reserve with them early you get early demo access and a special skin for the original game.

There is no online multiplayer aspect in GoW, dus no rush to get the game asap in order to get ahead of the pack. No surprise that the turnout was low tbh.

I went to my local best buy ands gamestop and saw barely anyone too. There were around 10 people at gamestop and 4 or 5 at best buy. It's actually surprised me, seeing as this game won the most anticipated game of the year award. But like one guy said, every town has a different populus. Still, for modern warfare 2 both stores were packed, and this time it was a ghost town. It all just seems weird... Can't wait to play this game!!!!

Spike TV's video game awards voted God of War III the most anticipated game of the year. Everyone has different opinions. I think it's the most anticipated game of the year for playstation at least, not sure if it's the most anticipated game overall this year, though. But that's just my opinion.

God Of War is a Single Player experience so there's no real rush to get it. I'm still playing Street Fighter 4 online, TF2 and Final Fantasy on top of that.

God of War can wait because I'll play it for a few hours, it will rock my face, I'll beat it and I will never play it again. Same reason I haven't got Bayonetta, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Heavy Rain... etc

Hmmm. I would put Bayonetta in that catagory, but Mass Effect 2 is a completely different gaming experience. It's a buyable game. I wish I had a ps3 for Heavy Rain :(

God of War never peaked my interest. First, second, third, I never found it interesting and Modern Warfare 2 peaked my interest once but it just plain sucked. =[ I'd never go out at midnight to purchase a game. Kudos to people who do.

Ohhh no, the midnight releases aren't swamped. Who cares? Neither are any of the midnight releases for any PS3 exclusives... or hell, any exclusives anymore. Only multiplatform games get any attention during the midnight hour.

Halo 3 was released in September 2007. The 360 was two years old, the PS3 was one year old. The older console = bigger userbase.

If you only care about revenue and sales, then World of Warcraft obliterates Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2.

WOW = Online.

Halo 3 + MW2 = Online

GOW3 = NOT Online
