The collapse in value of Sun's shares during the past 12 months is so comprehensive that it makes some bank shares look like shrewd investments in comparison.
The company's share price has been heading progressively South for the past year, from $21.55 to as low as $2.60 — a staggering fall of more than 86 percent.
Sun Microsystems' most recent quarter took a hit from a slumping U.S. economy, according to Sun CEO Jonathan Schwartz. Revenue from Sun's server computers and storage products fell 2.8 percent. The company plans up to 2,500 job cuts as it seeks to balance expenses with growth.
People are starting to call California's economy a "train wreck". Wonder why that might be?

Companys that leave USA in make products elsewhere is for low standers ,slave wages,ect Other countries have much more closed markets. We all saw what frauds Indians are with the Satyam scandal. That was just the tip of the iceberg. Quark, Dell, HP, and now Microsoft have all been burned by faking Indian IT conmen. Smaller companies like Quark have nearly been driven under by Indian IT fraud. Larger companies like Sun, due to their size take much longer to clean out and destroy, but it is happening. What about Enron and WorldCom, or more recently Madoff? Don't try to divert attention asshole. What Satyam's promoter did was wrong and...so he is in jail alongwith PwC auditors (American?) and he is going to be prosecuted. Not like a let-off or a HOUSE ARREST. Also, as much as it affected the investors' faith, it battered the employees too. Fudging by a promoter has nothing to do with how sincerely company catered to its customers.

Globalization can and will be stopped because the American people will demand it once their jobs are gone. I can guarantee you it will happen. It's already happening because there have been no H-1B increases since 2003. Six years. Oct. 2009, and all the mud-puddlers will have been ejected from USA thank God.
