I'm sorry. I appreciate the fact that you've tried to put video to Obi wan's story. But the fact is that the prequels don't match up with the history as portrayed in the prequels. Lucas should have watched his own movies before he decided to make more.

@koalabrownie what parts of the history doesn't add up? i agree that the original trilogy was in a different league to the prequels but i still thought the modern ones were ok, particularly the 3rd one.

@mrharoldb - I don't think the story they set out matches up with what Obi Wan says about Anakin in EpIV. Were they good friends in the prequels? Anakin's always complaining, Obi Wan is always suspicous. Or Obi Wan says Anakin is an accomplished pilot when they meet, but in TPM he's some little runt. Or they talk about Vader betraying and hunting down Jedi, but in the prequels he doesn't hunt anyone. You can shoehorn it in, and say it fits, but I don't buy it.

@mrharoldb - You should watch the Red Letter Media reviews. Even if you disagree with the nitpicking, he does make some good observations about how the new movies are made. And people may like EpIII but personally the last time I tried watching it I couldn't get through it. The dialogue is SOOO bad and the characters are so boring I just couldn't stand it. The only character I actually related to was Senator Organa when he sees that Jedi teen bite it outside the temple.

@koalabrownie I watched those red letter videos last night actually, funniest vids i've seen in a long time. it's correct that there wasn't nearly as enough character development or good dialogue in the prequels, but in terms of the plot adding up it actually does surprisingly well, something which must of been very hard to do. Lucas deserves a lot of respect for accomplishing that.

@mrharoldb - Well, that's debateable. I don't knock Lucas like a lot of people, well, except when he starts re-editing old movies, but he's released the originals so it's okay. I just think that somewhere between 1977 and now the backstory to Star Wars changed. Which is normal when you write the script 20 years later. My own stories changed 2 months later let alone 20 years. I just don't like the direction he went with it. And frankly I'd love if he'd just re-do them and do them better.

Yeah i def agree there! he should re do them with plotlines and characters as rich and epic as the originals. there were some brilliant scenes in the prequels though, such as order 66 and the jedi purge, as well as the burning of anakin skywalker.

great vid man great vid. it would like if i could go back and watch a new hope but in the 70s and when no one see any mean to the refreances like old republic and clone wars. ill be siting there knowing that this movie is just the tip of the iceberg
