  • 1" Polycarbonate (Two 1/2" pieces bolted together):

12 ga 1oz rifled slug: Stopped, first plate of glass blown to three pieces, slug stopped halfway through second plate and left a massive bulge on the back of the second plate (about 5X worse than .44 magnum).

I have recently made a 2" thick polycarbonate target and plan on testing it out against .223 and 5.56 SS-109 Penetrator soon.

  • @RayAir1 Thanks for that useful information!

    .357 magnum: full penetration.

1" polycarbonate glass (Two 1/2" thick pieces bolted together):

44 magnum 200gr JHP- Stopped, penetrated through first plate and halway through second. Large impact bulge on back.

    1/2" Polycarbonate:

.22LR- Stopped, although the round penetrated deeply enough to crack the back side of the polycarbonate on the impact spot.

.40 180gr FMJ- Stopped, round penetrated about .300-.400 deep, 99% of the time there were no cracks on the back of the impact spot, just some bulging.

9mm 115gr FMJ- Full penetration of the 1/2" polycarbonate
