  • does the intensity pro work for mac? just asking for a freind, i have a PC...

  • @JayQuinn1994 No it doesn't because this required a USB 3.0 Port, which Macs don't have. But Black Magic made a new one called the Intesity Extrmeme that uses the Thunderbolt Technology which Macs DO support. But the Intensity Extrmeme is a good amount of cash more than the Pro.

  • @Azian2DaMax ok thanks :)

  • For those who can't tell the difference, the difference is the compression artifacts on the pvr footage. The pvr compresses all of its recorded footage which causes these artifacts (which cause the footage to look a bit blurred or pixelated, but can be reduced by increasing the bitrate). The Intensity records uncompressed footage. An inexperienced eye might not be able to catch it, but there's definitely a quality difference. However, the Intensity's quality comes at the cost of large files.

  • yeha same i didnt se any difference but im ordering an intensity Pro

  • I dont see any difference xD

  • Their Both great capturing devices, it really hard to say which one is the better one, in some games the Black magic looked better and in some other games the PVR looked better so its a really close call, BUT to all of those who are looking to live stream, You should def go with the black magic, its a lot easier to live stream, in the other hand the HD PVR is not as easy, but as quality wise any of these capture cards would make you happy.

  • black magic records in 1080p.. pvr doesnt so u dont need a visual comparason to know that black magic is better

  • @GamePlayUK The pvr does play in 1080p i have had 3 of then

  • @uGzConnor No... the maximum resolution for PVR's is 1080i because the not compatible with HDMI and HDMI is the only way to achieve 1080p. component cables only go upto 1080i

  • @GamePlayUK Yes.. i just went to my dashboard and tryed it in 720p 1080p and 1080i unless my xbox is from another planet

  • i seriously dont see much to any difference, besides color correction

  • What's the second game it looks awesome

  • black magic= very advanced computer slightly better quality

    pvr= average computer awesome quality

  • Uh this is 2009 the model might have been really old

  • camera on tv beats all !!

  • Comment removed

  • The gaming edition of the PVR is now much better. Plus with Sony Vegas you can boost the quality a lot.

  • @FPSGamingxX The non gaming edition has the same quality browski -_-

  • @ANBCommunity There are added features to the new one and I'm not bothered I got a gaming edition because it was Christmas so it doesn't matter :P

  • can u use intensity pro for xbox360/ps3 and how does it work im a retard so help pls :d

  • it all depends also on your settings

  • Both lick balls compared to my EzCap!!! *Trollface*

  • it depends on the game, uncharted looked better on the black magic, but i thought the second game looked better on the hauppauge

  • hd pvr looks better

  • HD PVR Is Better

  • What game is this?

  • @InspiresMyDesires UNcharted 2

  • the black magic might look better up close, but the happauge takes like 45 minutes to set up and ive already ordered mine.

  • Black magic is better graphics, BUT its more harder to use than pvr, so im up to PVR

  • there both the same

  • idk i think theyre the same

  • different games have different graphics :P

  • What Would Be Better To Buy To Record Stuff From My Xbox Then?

Cause I Don't Want To Get A PVR and Find Out The Intensity Pro Is Better?

  • @iEliminationz You could not be a goon? ;D

  • intesity may be better but the file size will kill ur computer. PVR FTW!!!

  • THEY'RE THE EXACT SAME. -.-

  • WTH, the first test says the Blackmagic is better but the second is the hd pvr by far? I prefere HDPVR

  • the two dislikes cant afford a easycap

  • same, but i prefer pvr

  • What's the name of that game toward the end w/ that guy named Sev? Someone Please respond back.

  • I honestly don't see a difference. But I'm pretty sure Intensity Pro is cheaper right? But you also need a desktop for Intensity Pro. I'd get Intensity Pro but I have to use a laptop, so I'm getting an HD PVR.

  • @IndependentMontage you don't need a desktop, you can get a Shuttle, but the specs are somewhat outrageous.

  • can someone help? im looking to be a YouTube commentator and i need to know whats (in your opinion ) the best between the black magic intensity pro and the HD PVR? please help!

  • @4evrskater Hd PVR bro..

  • @TheTeaMEaZy ahaha you saw my comment xD

  • best comparisson on youtube, it helped out alot.

on question, when you play with component cables on the ps3, does it look okay when you play it? :) plz replay

  • @LillFoppa97 You can just buy a new comp (whit comp. to HDMI) så insted of buying one new you just have to buy to new comp. cables :)

  • @LillFoppa97 Sorry, bad English :P

  • The PVR has much better quality but the Intensity Pro has better color

  • When I saw the first 5 seconds, I was like " WtF DOES Lion king have to do with a quality test?" ;P

  • Not much of a difference, the quality gets fucked up by Youtube's shitty recompression after uploading =)

  • HD PVR Better Black Magic Bullshit is Just a Waste.

  • it looks as if the b.m.i.p. is better :/

  • big waw better colour lol you can add colour to hd pvr vid eady done :)

  • Intensity pro is better

  • Hi, I'm looking to record gameplay from the PC on the same PC, will using one of these cards be better than using fraps? Right now fraps halfs my fps and it's annoying.

    Thanks.

  • @smokanci Actually, I tried recording PC with the Intensity PCI card and it didn't work. Not sure about the shuttle and what not since they support 1080p. In theory yes they should perform much better.

My solution was to use a program called Dxtory. Also, make sure you're recording onto a completely separate hard drive from the one you're game is running off of. That's the biggest reason for the lack of frames.

  • @ilikemonkeysblogcom Can't you run HDMI from your computer back into the Intensity Pro?

  • @smokanci microsoft encoder

  • @smokanci use fraps

  • @smokanci

Just a tip from your friends over at zeroclockgaming:

While I have no experience with recording pc footage with a capture card, I would like to point out some ways to improve fraps framerate.

    1. Make sure that Fraps settings are correct (60fps)

    2. Install and record on a another Harddrive then your game is on (so having 2 harddrives helps)

    3. Upgrade your CPU (Fraps is mostly cpu heavy)

  • @smokanci you need two pc:s, one with the vard and one that you're gaming on.

  • @smokanci Just use Fraps - It records the PC in the quality of whatever your recording.

  • @smokanci the problem isn't fraps, its your pc.

  • @TheDylan1234 I would suggest a pvr becuase when you zoom in with the black magic the pixels become corrupted and are vary blury if you would like to see a pvr in action watch my vid called " Fml.."

  • thanks for this versus thing :D

  • someone plz tell me what is better because i need one of thm for christmas

  • @TheDylan1234 Well the PVR can hold more colors and compresses the video to around a Gb per 10 minutes. The Pro captures more detail and can use HDMI cables, but the file size is around 1 GB per minute. So if you have a great computer, a large hard drive and don't mind long render times, Go with the Pro. If you want more colors, lower rendering times, and have a decent computer go with the PVR.

  • @TheDylan1234 HD PVR!!! I demand you not to use Intensity Pro. All you get with intensity pro is bullshit, and you have to have a good pc to use it.

  • @JBDUK117 ok thx

  • Comment removed

  • when he zooms in with intensity the pixles get more vizable than the hd pvr so hd pvr

  • I'd love to get an Intensity Shuttle, but it's USB 3.0 only, and us Mac users are being weened onto freakin' Thunderbolt. :S

  • @FromTheWordsOf They now have thunderbolt if you check out their website.

  • @TheGarmanProductions Yeah, whoops, I actually saw that just after I posted the comment and actually did some investigation. Still, because of the technology, Thunderbolt devices are so expensive. Plus I'd need a new Mac anyways. STOP ADVANCING TECHNOLOGY!!

  • @FromTheWordsOf don't get a Mac dude seriously. Mac is the least supported laptop out there. Get a Dell or a gaming laptop.

  • I still prefer hauppage because its just as easy to use as a dazzle dvc100 plus it looks amazing

  • Hauppauge HD PVR because its more easy to use and it looks sexy. :)

  • I got the Intensity Pro 2 weeks ago and I can't get the fucking thing to work. I think it's the shitty software and the requirement for Adobe Premier. I messed with my HDMI setting for my 360 and now it won't connect to my TV anymore. Thanks Blackmagic for ruining my Xbox and making me piss away $200

  • black magic is better i still love my pvr tho

  • DSi taped to my forehead can beat both in a quality test..

  • Intensity Pro, better quality asin blurryness its better, but the colour is ALOT better and realistic on the HD PVR

  • does the Black Magic Intenisty pro or shuttle work on z68 atx motherboards? specifically the Asus P8Z68-V Pro

  • fuck u internet! it took me an hour to load this hd video haha

  • the Intensity Pro has a little bit gray tint something like that :S yea i see it the contast isnt good isnt deep enough :D

  • 0:17 HD PVR

    1:36 Black magic intensity pro

  • @XXXShotZz Lol, I know a lot about PC hardwares. I think i can figure it out.

  • @XXXShotZz then intensity pro wins. :D

  • @KoZBlest Not completely true. For live stream the IP is a better CC so basically pvr is the more user friendly cc. IP has more functionality. Also pvr goes for about 150 on amazon. Back when I got both of them I paid 180 each off the actual sites for each on sale. I use the pvr more though since the IP is more resource demanding and takes a ton of hdd space uncompressed.

  • which one is cheaper :D

  • @xy274 lmao the black is

  • which is better?

  • Sickk vidio, nice comparison

  • who cares about quality? Hauppauge is easy to set up and isn't as pricey as

Black Magic. The Black Magic is harder to set up, and it is more pricey, but it has better quality. My point being, Hauppauge is better.

  • @LinkReyIndyFan black magic is $189.05 on amazon pvr is $200

  • @LinkReyIndyFan black magic is cheaper dude

  • @LinkReyIndyFan lol i say quality is the thing u will focus on so i say the black magic cature card is better :D

  • @ThePurexProductionss Everybody has their own opinions. I respect your opinion.

  • @LinkReyIndyFan your wrong blackm ajic is cheaper

  • contrast is da ony difference

  • hdpvr ftw

  • blackmagic is clearer

  • vote! HD PVR o intensity pro...?

  • what games were those?

  • @jessejoshmatt

Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2, Both ps3 exclusives.

    see ya

  • 0:56

  • Video camera on a stand owns all!

  • @JeffHardyRocks3000

    Wait what?

Are you seriously claiming that filming a screen works better then capturing the footage straight of the output?

  • @Decenium he is joking... lol

  • @VaDeRv2

    Just checking ;)

  • @VaDeRv2 or am i joking ;)

  • @JeffHardyRocks3000 actually DSI taped to ur forehead works alot better

  • What game was that!?

  • @00011theman Either Uncharted 1 or 2

  • the only difference i see is color.

  • @MegaFinalRound ikr just use color corrections and you can make them both look the same

  • its both good

  • winner : HDPVR

  • intesity is best. but fraps is better.

  • @huntrock331 Fraps slows ur frames so badly

  • @huntrock331 FRAPS is for computer. Intensity is for consoles.

  • By the way very simple editing fixes the "true color" problem with the hd pvr.

  • Looks the same to me.

  • Anyone Need Their Halo or Blackops Clips Recorded? I Record With HD PVR For Microsoft Points.

  • Fraps better than all

  • Comment removed

  • So to use the IP you actually need a descent PC? why dont you need one for the PVR?

  • @RickyKirksey Because the the The intensity pro is a new component for the pc, it uses the pc to process the the HD content. With the HD PVR the box does most of the hard work and so your PC does not need to be that great although I would recommend nothing below A dual core processor with at least 2.9ghz, a discreet graphix card with at least 512mb and 4gb ram.

  • Are you using HDMI with the Intensity Pro?

  • Tbh it makes no difference. Both are hd 1080p, and if u have after effects u can easily brighten up the pvr's image. I do however have an Intensity Pro, just cos.

  • @SMGClanx hd pvr is only 1080i.. 720p is better than 1080i

  • @OhhFK NO it's not. 720P is normal HD, 1080i is full HD.

  • @CrazieeeKidd LOL 720p records better for youtube than 1080i does..

  • @OhhFK Does it? :/ didn't know that soz...

  • If you want to easy just pvr, but if you want to advance buy blackmagic

  • YOU GUYS HATING ON THE BLACK MAGIC BECAUSE YOU GOT SHIT PC'S

HD PVR YOU CAN HAVE A LAPTOP AND RECORD ... BUT BLACK MAGIC IS QUALITY PICTURE ...

  • On youtube I can never really tell the difference. I got the HD PVR simply because I don't think my computer could handle the Black Magic. The only thing I don't like about the HD PVR is that it forces me to play using the component cables instead of the HDMI.

  • hd pvr FTW

  • Hd pvr isnt as washed out but the ip is sharper but I would go for the hd pvr over the ip

  • HD-PVR is better in my opinion.

  • pvr looks better for me

  • it looks the same thing

  • @gamerboi2552 never mind

  • in my opinion the intensity pro looks better

  • I thought 0:17 was real at first

  • @it8nky0u uncharted is the shit!!

  • @it8nky0u same

  • @it8nky0u Yes you know why Because this is Uncharted 2 Among Thieves. The best game made ever. This game has 25 perfect review scores. This won game of the year as well. This game is amazing the story mode is epic and so is the Multiplayer. And its only for the PS3. Great game if you have PS3 get all the games including the new one that will be released Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception.

  • In my opinion

    1) The HD PVR has better color

    2) The Intensity Pro has better HD quality with better detail

    3) The Intensity Pro is about $10-$20 cheaper

    4) With the HD PVR, you don't need to upgrade your computer

    5) The Intensity gives you more bang for your buck

    6) The HD PVR is easier to setup

    7) Because of the Intensity Pro being in the computer, may not be stolen. But if its in the computer, you'll get both stolen.

    8) The HD PVR is a cool box you can show off to your friends(;

  • @freerunningkid555 I like your thinking :] Your not a fanboy thats what i like. Good for you bud!

  • may i ask for your desktop-specs, especially the gfx-card?

i heard you need a decent one, just wanted to make sure mine is good enough before i go and buy one

    thanks :)

  • hd pvr has better quality

  • @deztroyer00 No.. No it doesn't.

  • Someone tell me if I can run this card properly?

    i7 920 OC @ 4.2GHz

    2x Overclocked Radeon HD 5670's

    3GB tri-channel RAM OC @ 1600MHz

    1TB 7200RPM HDD

Can I at least get MJPEG compressed video with this setup?

  • @ysinha2000 Funny guy.

  • @iOllieeHD I'm not kidding. Just because I overclocked everything doesn't mean I can be sure it can handle it.

  • @ysinha2000 someone with that high specs is obviously going to know what they can and cant run, ur just trying to show off

  • @iOllieeHD Those aren't really high specs.

  • @ysinha2000 I could be wrong, but I think for the Intensity Pro you need two hard drives....

  • @Ignopius only for uncompressed HD I think you can record in MJPEG without 2 hard drives in RAID

  • i trickshot i am saving up which one should i buy

  • @TwistTiltz if you have an AMAZING computer like an alienware 2000 dollar comp then get a Blackmagic, if not, The HD PVR is for u

  • Any questions just ask me :]

  • How would i find out if i can run this cleanly on my computer?

  • @FRr3AkOnALEaSh What are your specs?

  • @Orangeboxesx Pretty standard. PROCESSOR: AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.81GHz RAM: 2 Gig GRAPHICS CARD: Geforce GT210

  • @FRr3AkOnALEaSh Not bad... It should be perfectly fine to capture. I use 2gb of ram too and i got no problems. You should be fine. NOTE first that the Black magic can be very tricky to setup when it comes to setting up on the computer. There are not much tutorials out there so i might make one specially for you and other people who plan to get one :]

  • @Orangeboxesx Don't get me started on setting up capture cards lol, i remember how hard it was for the EasyCap back in the days, downloading multiple drivers, some programs wouldn't work, no color etc ^.^. When you say tricky, what do you mean? It comes with drivers etc right? or some installation process? I thought you'd just need to install software/drivers, update and pick a program to record with?
