I love G1 and this is a great nostalgic Optimus homage. I applaude you for creating this. I've been comming here to watch it everynow and then for about a year now.
nice touch. I like your choice of using Cash over Reznor. Just adds to the nostalgic feeling of loss, pain, and remorse. Great job. I particularly like how you used black and white on certain frames which adds to the mood.
finally a GOOD audio track. im fuckin sick of these ass clowns using for these montages all those pussy ass bands that all sound like creed... and creed FUCKING SUCKS
Dude, you obviously don't understand the context and what this character means to some people. Why do do you have to try and fuck with us? And since I'm an alcoholic/drug addict I can say that there are plenty of emotions involved with addiction. The song wasn't only about heroine. It was about depression, losing friends, losing touch with who you are, self-abuse(cutting, etc.), reflecting upon life.
yes it is called hurt but johnny cash didn't originate this song the acctually maker is NIN (nine inch nails) check it out i honestly thought they did a better job tho but i still like cash
its not about him losing friends and stuff its about him shooting heroin yes it sounds like its a sad song but its to show you that heroin can ruin ur life
You're saying Optimus Prime did smack? The song encompasses many emotions and can be interpreted in different ways. Obviously, part of it is about heroine but there's more there. This video is about Optimus Prime, so it seems you're missing something.
Never got to see Transformers in Theater. I'm too young. But I did get in to it fanatically after my brother's showed it to me. This is an awesome vid and very sad.
I think the kindest thing Huffer ever did was in the episode called 'heavy metal war' when Megatron cheated by taking extra strength from his Decepticons. After Megatron and Optimus had duelled each other, Optimus was BADLY HURT. Huffer offered to carry his really big and heavy trailer back to the Autobot base to make it easier for Optimus to drive himself home. Optimus replied, and I quote, "you are a true friend, Huffer."
I was in tears when I saw Ironhide, of all the autobots (besides Optimus) ACTUALLY KILLED the way he was. How dare the cartoon animators and editors have that happen to such an honourable autobot! And PRIME too?! It makes me cry.
This is gonna sound really sentimental. I very sadly never got to meet either of my Grandfathers because they died before I was born. I've always wished for a Grand-dad and VERY SECTRETLY, I've always imagined that if the Autobots were real and I knew Ironhide personally, I would look up to him as my honorary Grandfather. That sounds really weird, doesn't it?
I hope you don't mind my asking, but how old are you? You said you nearly walked out of the theatre after Ironhide was killed. If you're talking about going to see it at the theatre back in 1986 then you must be older than me. I'm 23.
As for Huffer, the funniest thing I remember of him was in the episode, "The Autobot Run" when Megatron paralyzes the autobots in vehicular-mode. When the others find out, Huffer says, "I knew the racing thing was bad news, but would anyone listen to me? Oh, no!" At hearing this, Brawn picks him up as easily as paper (shows you just how strong he really is), holds him up in the air and says, "stifle it, Huffer, or I'll put my foot in your audio," LOL!
I will admit that Huffer was probably one of those Autobots who didn't have a huge role in the series and was, as some of you have already stated, only in the series for comic relief. However, I have noticed in a few episodes that he did try his best to help...when he wasn't busy saying, "I knew this wouldn't work," "it'll never work, Wheeljack," etc.
Beautiful video. By the way, for those wondering, Huffer's death was never explained in the series. It is assumed he died in the attack on Autobot City in the Movie. Before the attack, he is briefly seen outside with Kup. He probably never made it inside before the decepticons caught up to him.
Yes, I agree. He died while running away because he was without a doubt the lamest Autobot. The guy never did anything useful and was only there for comedy relief.
bull, he was second in strength to optimus. he was gunned down running for his piece or trying to alert headquarters. you remember the episode when he wild out on the decepticons?
why not sir? huffer was a autobot and friend of prime. he died defending autobot city. i dont like huffer at all. he does have the right to be remembered by optimus.
He probably died while running. He, no doubt, tripped and fell into some lava or something. But, in all seriousness, Huffer was one of the lamest characters in the series. He was always in trouble, and he never contributed anything to the autobot cause.
sir i dont agree on that. i think he died bravly. i agree he was one of the less popular charcters. he did contribute to the autobot cause. they all did.
what a charismatic leader.watching this video reminds me why when i was a little girl i took more to this show than the care bears or my little ponny.
The majority of the clip is taken from the season 3 episode 'Dark Awakening', where the quintessons revive Optimus Prime to lead the autobots into a trap of cataclysmic proportions.
`This makes me cry so much... wow... I watch it every couple of days, there's just something so powerful to it, I can't imagine Hurt to anything else...
Wow, this always makes me cry... like how you didn't use movie footage too like everyone does.
The only thing I didn't like is that it's generally accepted Wheeljack didn't die, and that his body was meant to be someone else's(also, him and windcharger weren't grey but that's probably irrelevant since it took Prime quite some time to turn grey).
He appeared fighting Devestator and in one of the Japanese series.
I'd personally count that two to one on Wheeljack surving.

What happened at 3:21 and why did he keep flying? Also at the end, was that figure of Optimus. Was it Optimus's spirit or something?

The part that got me was the clips showing Prime's friends fading to black; while the lyrics spell out Prime's sadness at the loss of his friends.

damn, just sad, this song was one of the last that Johnny Cash did.
Great Swan Song for both of them.
