man the way preem cut in that music from bucktown was so damn classic actually all the scratch samples are on point but i thought preem was going to start doing joints with the coco b's the d&d album i thought could have been better it wasnt terrible but with the d&d stamp of approval i thought it should have been better
@Danilio2020 this is late golden era hiphop! oldschool/newschool is pretty subjective - but this track is from the time just before puffy went hard and smashed things up. think of oldschool as more simple drum machine beats, and party rap rhymes. krs-one already had about 8 albums out by the time this track dropped.
old does not equal old school.. old school is the early 80's hip hop, focused on party music with simple lyrics like you see in wild style e.g. (treacherous threee, kurtis blow, fat boys, cold crush and so on).. new school hip hop starts with run dmc, advanced rapping technique, drum computers.. another example would be ll cool j. this isn't even new school.. why am i even writing comments on youtube?
@affeschaedel72 Because you want everyone to know that you are a label snob? Much unlike you, many and i mean MANY consider this old school hip hop. Who ever says "this is some real new school hip hop son"?. No one man. And i dont know, why are you writing comments you're the one that took it upon him/herself to try to correct someone.
@affeschaedel72 Because you want everyone to know that you are a label snob? Much unlike you, many and i mean MANY consider this old school hip hop. Who ever says "this is some real new school hip hop son"?. No one man. And i dont know, why are you writing comments you're the one that took it upon him/herself to try to correct someone in the first place.
i'm actually not really a label snob, just find it curious how a lot of people call 90's rap oldschool.. what's the stuff that happened before then? pre-school rap? let's not start a silly youtube comment feud, insulting each other.. why am i writing comments? probably out of that "eacht one, teach one" attitude, which is actually kind of old school!
KRS one killed that verse. Fall to your knees bring fruit ask advice. Guy brought some king of the throne type shit. Them kind of lyrics had you wheeling that tapedeck, Walkman, or wha ever back again, again and again.
Everybody did their thing, but KRS-ONE simply held this track together. His verse was the best. "Im the difference between indo and oregeno", and "every hour, every second, minute, dont stop get-get!", that was just plain sick. My boys Smif & Wessun & Jeru repped lovely for BK!
KRS simply murdered the track. Very rarely do find instances where an MC's cadence, tone and energy and is so perfectly in line with the track. I think you probably find it more ofter over Premo tracks than most other producers, which is part of his brilliance. The man just makes beats that bring the best out of MCs. If anyone has a lead of a good quality MP3 of this I would greatly appreciate them sharing it. The version they have on iTunes and Amazon are chopped to shit.
@DominicanAssassin809 Shit, it means a lot comming from a retarded bitch that listens to justin timberlake and kid cudi and hates on fat joe on every video like if he had no life hahaha OWNED you sucked it
