hahahah! Yes people are on the fence about this story. If you are indeed a fan (and it sounds like you are by the comments I'm reading here) I recommend the documentary film LOVECRAFT: FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN.

You keep talking about him ignoring things, while you yourself ignore quite a lot about this story. Such as the fact that the Dreamlands are another dimension, that people accesses while they sleep. And the fact that the city is not just Cornwall it's a combination of all the good aspects of every city he'd lived in, making it, for him, the perfect city. And as for going to the moon, Dreamlands have different physics than the waking world.
Okay i think you ignored this isnt serious. Im not to fussed if you disagree, just dont comment on things if you're only going to just state facts about fiction. While you may think you have a great understanding or perhaps just want to push you do. Most people dont, as such I decided to skip over details that required allot of explanation. Oh and learn what the word metaphysics means, you might realize that most of what you said was wasted .
i actually have always had trouble finishing any Dream Cycle story. Of course, I have read many other HPL stories several times over. So it is all to taste.
well they are all in an omnibus, the mountain of madness and other tales. I strongly recommend reading if your a fan as most of the short stories are fantastic. Really atmospheric and philosophical. I chose to slate this story because it was one of the few piles of crud the other wise awesome author has produced .
