Watt-Roy is GOD. Dury and the Blockheads were fantastic, if you weren't there don;t comment. This is music. God bless Ian and the Boys! Superb in every way. Proper music, played properly!
Norman watt roy reminds me of mick jones.... the way he groves / looks and just his awesomeness, different trades ofcourse..... but wholy crap, what an infectious bass line
I`m only 41, but old enough to remember this group and key songs such as this one. I simply can not undrstand how the individual and collective brilliance of this band escaped me including the brilliance of Ian Dury. I have no musical background, however, it is clear to me that the Block Heads are simpy unbelivably tallented. They`re a musical living organism, and the collective sound they produce is their verbal articulation with Ian Dury forming the substance and meaning to that sound!
Love this tune even though I was born in 1977,lol.But I love 70s music aswell and appreciate how good stuff like this is.When did Ian Dury pass on because this looks recent?
27th march 2000 11 years ago time flies this is a quality song, check out the song called what a waste and also reasons to be cheerfull class songs from the 70,s by ID and the Blockheads..
These guy's are a rare example of pop music being written and performed by real musicians. Perccusion, keys, brass, bass, guitar all surperbly written and played. The bassline could have been very simple but it is one of the hardest to play. This isn't a symphony designed for orchestras it's a pop song that has had more time and effort put into it than all other pop songs put together.
Oh dear Kellond1 you really shouldn't comment on something you know so little about, ie quality music, like woobag I feel very sorry for you. Try broadening your horizons and maybe read up a bit on the blockheads and the support they got and still get from people who know their music

"simplygoodmusic" your not. This bloke got a hit by a sympathy vote for a disabled polio victim. He couldn't sing and this can't be decribed as a song. It's just pathetic. If you want to waste money on buying a record of a polio victim at least buy a Gene Vincent record
I can only presume that your LACK of musical ability and appreciation for the finest group of session musicians anyone could hope for, caused you to post that ridiculous comment Kellond1. Dont watch them performing it.......LISTEN TO IT! (you should check out JEDWARD......more up your street mate!
It's a shame you don't like Dury's records but nobody had any clue he was a crip when they got into his records. He's one of the best lyricists and most charismatic front-men anyone's ever seen, and his band were (and still are) world-class players.

One of the, if not the funkiest grooving bands ever to come from England. Fine fine fine musicians.
