  • What a great scene.

  • WOW thats acting for you.

  • I almost cried today watching this film. The main reason was because of the brilliant acting.

  • i met daniel in belfast hes really nice

  • @Davish98 Oh God I can't envy u more. He's a genius.

  • i met daniel

  • Daniel reminds me of Ewan McGregor in this lol.

  • "...and I wrote your name on the ground - your stupid Giuseppe fuckin name, I wrote it in the dirt and I fucking pissed on it! I PISSED ON IT!"

    LOL!

  • There is no finer actor.

  • I probably watch this at least twice a week.. It's unbelievable acting

  • The " film world" is seriously going to miss Pete Postlethwaite.

    R.I.P

  • Why the hell hasn't this film been released on Blu-Ray? Grrrr

  • Hey! Am I the next Patrick Swayze? Come watch my monologue to find out!

  • The best acting ever. Daniel day Lewis is the god of actors. He should of got an award for that film. Best film ever

  • 3:26-3:31. I wish there was just an endless loop of that somewhere.

  • @michellehetumusic gifninja.com/animated-gifs/263739/medal haha

  • @bestin2 HAHAHAH awesome.

  • At a loss for words.

  • That was pretty intense.

  • As a guy, I've always respected the "art" of some women's movies that illustrate the complicated relationships between mothers/daughters. I have to say, this scene--I've lived a version of this scene with my own father--and as "macho" as any of us are, in our society, I bet more than one of my fellow brothers has watched this scene and recalled the anger, resentment, hurt & ultimately love that we walked through in a scene from our life, with our father, similar to this.

  • What do they say after 2:30? Can somebody tell me about their relationship?

  • @Cedramaaya they are father and son,,he tryed to sell his medal he won in football,

  • RIP , Pete .

  • this was a great movie

  • It is so weird to think of the different movies he's done while watching his other performances. Amazing!

  • Aweomse movie, one of my faves!!

  • Why isn't this the most viewed video ever on youtube?

  • @kalel0192 yea, its a damn good scene

  • @kalel0192 'cause we live in the time of twighlight and harry potter...God Help us

  • I read somewhere a while ago that Daniel's scene was mostly adlib. eg he was told the general story or script to the affect of a sons resentment towards his father because of a seemingly innocent concern or insult to something that happened when he was a child. Apparently Pete nor anyone on the crew knew what Daniel was going to say or do. Not sure where or how long ago i read it but has anyone else heard or seen an interview saying as much?

  • Mr Conlon a true hero, a true Irishman and played by an amazing actor , may they both Rest in Peace x

  • im proud to be irish, i fukn hate prods!!!!

  • I'd say that's a bad Irish accent comin from danniel Lewis..good but bad for him...

  • @ultracrunchy That's not an Irish accent. It's a Belfast, Northern Irish accent. It's very, very different from a standard Irish accent, and Day-Lewis has it spot on.

  • @Salguine Theres no such thing as a "standard" irish accent, i differs from reigon to reigon, even 10-20 minutes outside Belfast is Ballymena, you''d think you were in scotland hearing their accents.

  • @20Tomas08 Yes, I know. By "standard" I mean a neutral, regionalism-free accent of the kind that's used by TV news people and that you get taught at theater school.

  • @ultracrunchy no its perfect, its a northern irish accent, which i hate, which is funny cause i'm from there..

  • @ultracrunchy - You don't know irish accents very well 'cause they both have it spot on.

  • a father's love for his son, thanks

  • This movie pretty much invented the Irish film industry. Nearly 20 years on and theres still nothing that comes close!

  • The best actor alive *****

  • Outstanding actors. Please Sylvester, look at this and try to learn something

  • RIP Pete

    one of this generation's greats

  • R.I.P Pete my god you were great

  • This same guy is bill the butcher and the milkshake drinking daniel planeview?

    Thats what i call acting.

    R.I.P Pete

  • This makes me so sad...I love this movie!!! R.I.P Pete Postlethwaite

  • Brilliant acting.R.I.P Peter.

  • R.I.P. Pete Postlethwaite

  • RIP Giuseppe

  • RIP Pete Postelthwaite 1946 - 2011

class-actors like these have become rare these days, unfortunatly.

  • R.I.P. Pete Postlewhaite, you'll be greatly missed

  • R.I.P. Pete Postlethwaite.

  • Magical Acting!!

  • This is hidden Treasure people...Enjoy it, keep it close to you...use it when it calls you.

  • good movie!

  • mind blowing actors bud

  • we often underestimate the people closest to us until were the ones in utter despair and theyre not

  • i love how he always adds random extra bits like the constant eye squinting! just brings more to the scene!

  • The first time I saw this scene, I was practically shaking by the end. Daniel Day-Lewis' acting is orgasmic it's so brilliant.

  • Excellent!

  • at 3:42 I love how he says "and now you are in jail" instead of "now you're in jail" it just makes it better

  • @Htrerise I think it just sounds like that becasue of the accent, I think he actually said "And now here you are in jail!"

But I could be wrong...I love the northern irish accent, but im from the republic of ireland and so dont sound half as nice as Daniel!

  • i love the emotion they show between each other , I love Daniel

  • nevermind delayed shock...i've been like this since i was seven.
