Newt: the real reason why the oil price AND the price of other commodities came down during the past few weeks is because the USD has found a temporary bottom and rallying a bit, as Ron Paul points out. It is NOT because of the Bush announcement about offshore drilling as some Republicans believe nor is it because of the speculators, as many Democrats believe.

Oil went up because the buyers speculate what FUTURE supply and demand will be, if they see demand going up and supply staying level or declining the price goes up, if they think we might change the laws to allow drilling then they SPECULATE the supply will be greater then prices go down. Get your heads out of your asses and learn how the real world works. Without oil 95% of people would starve in less than 6 months. Cities go 1st

its useless to give big oil any new land if they will not even drill on the 62mil, with 36 mil offshore. Any new bill that lets them drill should says that they must start any operation with in 6 months of getting the land and with in 2 years they must start to drill. Also it would be nice if they would put a thing that says if we find new oil in the USA it stays in the USA and not put on the world market. This will not happen they dont want time lines or have to keep the oil here. why? Money!!!
