The dialogue didn't bug me too much & I was glad that the women did fight back and gave the 'psycho soccer mom' bitch what she deserved. Guess I've just seen a lot worse low budget flicks like Star Crystal, Feeders, & such...but still great job on the review and it's definitely not as 'outstanding' and 'brilliant' as those guys on the cover said. But hate for this film is perfectly understandable, but i just liked it alright. Keep up the solid reviews sir.

Solid job on the review! Just saw this flick...actually didn't mind it too much...definitely not as 'great' as those reviews made it out to be, or could be cause I just saw it after Zombie Diaries which I thought was an incredible abomination of celluloid. But I didn't mind the acting...although I can understand why others hated it. I liked them and bought why they got so freaked out, especially being chased by the 'soccer mom bitch from hell' villain of the flick. Liked the idea of it.

It also bugged me how that they never revealed anything. Horror movies most always reveal why the killer is the way they are. Its just not a STORY unless you do.

But there was no backstory whatsoever. You knew nothing about any of them. And thats just not how a movie should go. You should know a bit about the characters to feel 'connected' to the movie, or in a horror, actually care about if they die or not. In this movie, I didn't care one bit.

I was fooled by it too, and I also think EVERYTHING about it sucked. The plot made NO sense (I was lost 99% of the time), and the characters were a bunch of idiots. Always throwing up or soiling themselves over nothing. Or leaving the car when that killer was around.

I think it COULD have been a good movie if it had've been done correctly, i.e better camera, clearer/more involved plot (such as a backstory on the girls, instead of starting on the "plot" right away), less screaming, etc.

check out the original texas chainsaw massacre, you can tell that is shot is the same poor fuzzy quality. Only me thinkin here but...i think thats adds realness to it

I agree that handheld, grainy camerawork can add a great realness if done properly. But Tobe Hooper and Daniel Pearl were talented, trained people who knew what they were doing when they shot Tx Chainsaw. The already knew the rules so they were able to effectively break them. Five Across the Eyes (to me, anyway) just looked like a person who didn't know how to run the camera or use a tripod.

the scene where the camera just stayed in the car in the same spot for about 10 minutes and you cant see anything apart from hearin the screams of your friends gettin hurt suggests the movie wants you to be apart of it. Kinda of like your to scared to go and help your friends, you just want it all to go away, close ur eyes n curl up into a ball.

I thought that was a differnt but good scary scene :P

Yeah, I had no clue what was happening for a good part of the movie. I honestly don't think I would have been so harsh if there wasn't such a seemingly positive critical response to this movie. It gets your hopes up way too high. I'm glad not everyone hates it as much as me, though!

The best I can describe this movie is a major clusterfuck.

IMO the creators of this movie just succeeded in conning people into buying that piece of shit DVD. 4k was probably what it cost for the graphics work on the cover. The rest of the effort was spent by those bitches prostituting themselves not for money, but for positive reviews.
