These songs are relatively simple indeed.

any average musician can get them down pretty fast.

Well I'd differ in this case - the guitar part is fairly easy and nearly 100% powerchords, but I'd say the bassline is a lot harder and requires at least intermediate skill. The drum fills in the song, if done faithful, are also rather complex.

Yeah, it does ^^ I think it's great that it's that realistic ^_^ I've rarely seen this done in anime about music - often they stray more off reality and add additional guitars/instruments in the arrangement ^^
