if your so keen on promoting what a diverse and interesting place russia is to visit why dont you liberalize your visa rules so it's actually possible to visit
@johnotm LOL, they are pretty liberal compared to USA/UK where you need to wait for 3 years to get a 2 week Visa.... Compared to 7 days in a Russian Embassy or if you pay like 300$ its over night
lol. true Siberia, real mountaineous remote part of Siberia. in fact, as far as i know, major part of Siberia is modern, includes many big cities with intense industrial, cultural, and educational life.

By 'wasteland' I referred to INHABITED BY HUMANS(Without human settlements to be more precise)...
And, Siberia is covered in woods and full of wolves and bears(deers also I guess)... So it's not a wasteland it that meaning...
P.S. Generally(much more than the statistic border of 51%) Siberia is human inhabited wilderness, aka a 'wasteland' from a social and demographic aspect...
