Agreed. From what I heard from the son of a medicine man, he said that they weren't always bad. Most Dine that I spoke with on the subject said that they were once part of the tribe until they became corrupted. The corruption usually was reported as being around the time the settlers came. Agreed. From what I heard from the son of a medicine man, he said that they weren't always bad. Most Dine that I spoke with on the subject said that they were once part of the tribe until they became corrupted. The corruption usually was reported as being around the time the settlers came. I can only imagine how unique and wonderful they would've been if they hadn't become corrupted. They are amazing athletes and incredible at animal mimicry as it is.

@TIFKC In the middle of a desert...not around any water. I've seen the original photos from this video, which were sent to me after they were taken. It seemed to me that the skull was most likely crafted from paper mache. You can also see zig zag cuts of felt along the edges where the craftsman of the costume enforced the rotting skin's edges. My thoughts when I looked at these images closely was that skinwalker tradition itself has modernized, maybe due to scarcity of animals or ease.

I personally am a Therian and dedicated to the light, though I have encountered dark-workers a couple of times. One had such dark energy that my spirit guides screamed at me to get out of there by causing a ringing in my right ear that temporally cut out almost all the hearing in it. There are ways to accomplish an animal nature without any form of dark ritual whatsoever.

I've found through experiance that most shapeshifting is accomplished by the person shifting and changing the energy around their bodies, there is often no to little physical change. Obviously there are people who acomplish this by dark means such as the skinwalkers or there wouldn't be so many stories and accounts of their rituals. But there are others who are light workers and call for the blessings of the animal spirits to enter them or have an animal type energy from birth.

Yana's are more like assassins. They dont just go around scaring anyone, maybe some do though, but they target certain people or families. Everything they do is in secrecy. When they kill someone they make it look like an accident or some unknown cause. They can kill you in your sleep and make it look like you just mysteriously died while sleeping. Everything they use and can do allows them to leave no traces or evidence. They're quite stealthy, but animals can usually sense them real quick.

I remember this one time me and my cousin were in Shonto and we were sleeping in my nally's hogan and the hogan top didnt have a roof and we saw a 'Yanni' lookin at us with its red glowing eyes and big bunny ears. It was looking at us for about 3 min and took off, 10 min later its started bangin on the door trying to get in. The next morning there was coyote blood and skin in the front of our door. Dont worry, we got blessed after that.

I've met a Skinwalker. Never knew what it even was. Told a paranormal group about my experiences and they told me about the Skinwalker legend. I lived in AZ when I first started seeing it.
