    There is NO WAY you are at 480/500 on those mods. You would need a upper and lower pulley plus a port on the stock eaton, so quit blowing smoke , u may be at a lil over 425 at most.

  • Without any head work this size cam also lowers the compression ratio as the engine cannot breath. The car does not run as well as it should. makes it have a sluggish feel. ALways port heads when you do cam change....I was going to say to put L92 heads as there is a big performance difference between cnc ls6 and cnc l92 heads, but this cam aint suitable for that head

  • and 1 7/8 headers on a stock CID doesnt do it any favours as that size header slows down the air speed and will make the car accelerate slower off the line. They will help a bit up top. The 1 3/4 size is the best for a stock CID. There is no power difference and you dont lose any air speed. Porting the intake and throttle body in an awesome mod. It really livens the car up and makes it super responsive.

  • this cam i reckon is too rough idling for the street. It loses a lot of bottom end power.

    for the street a 114 lsa should be as narrow as you should go for a cam that size so the power band is more spread out.

    with 112 lsa, it will make more peak torque than a 114lsa by about 10 lb/ft but sacrifices a lot of bottem end punch. In reality there is no performance difference between the two. if that car was auto it would need a 3500rpm+ stall converter just to get the car moving...

  • Haha, sounds cool but I laughed when you said you only have 446rwhp. I have an 03 cobra with just exhausts, cold air intake, throttle body, and chip...and dyno'd at 480rwhp 500 torque. I was expecting you to say you were at 600 or something with the way that thing sounds. I am going to swap out the stock supercharger next summer for the 2.8 mammoth and will be at 700rwhp, then I might consider doing cams...In my opinion your car needs to be way more bad ass before going straight to cams.

    I hope you have enough piston to valve clearance too....

    With that massive cam buddy, do a head conversion using the GM l92. They shit all over the cathedral port and even if you fully port your stock ls6 heads they will still flow 30HP less than stock l92 heads.

    Using the l92 you will notice a huge difference in acceleration but then again that cam is not suited to the rectangular port..

  • Very nice. To the idiot going on about the holden monaro, holden produce the GTO in aussie for america! the only difference being the bumpers and badging and ofcourse the LHD. GM didnt compy anyone, they are all the same company and all the Monaro/ Pontiac GTO's are built by holden.

    Anyway, nice work man, cant wait untill i get mine over here from the states, this is like a god send, absolutly perfect!

  • The car is putting down 446rwhp with stock heads, and a stock ported intake on E85. Might do new ported heads and FAST intake next spring. Looking to get to 500rwhp.

  • i get the point you guys are making, but if the injectors just got "shut off" the engine would stall out. you need SOME fuel delivery and reduced timing on decel to keep the motor running. You dont want the engine trying to stall out while braking.

  • I bought a brand new VZ 5.7,at 1500kms spent 6k on cam,exhaust etc,sounded like a race car,wife wouldnt go in it,total fuck up,good for a day,but not for me.Started from scratch,MWS supercharged,drives great,470RWHP.

    Underdrive pulley = $200 or so

    Kooks coated headers and midpipes = $1300

    HP Tuners tuning Software = $650

    Wideband 02 sensor = $200

    Borla catback = $500 (used, lists for $1000)

    Ported intake/throttle body = FREE

    Hardcore intake tubing and filter = $150?

    Total = $3800 and I did all the labor and tuning.

  • Saleen 550 is a dumb ass...I have a 65 Chevelle and it only had 427 hp out of the small journal 327 that I built I ran a 8.28 at 86 with it. 570 hp my ass. This is a wonderful way of spending money good sir. The only way in my book. That car is amazing!

  • I have the stock gears for now but will go with 3.91s in the spring. You should always match rear end gears with a big cam, I just haven't gotten to it. The low end torque feels about stock around 2000. Below 1500 is noticably less powerful, but the underdrive pulley helps with that since there's less rotational mass. Stock heads/pistons and no flycutting required with this cam. The stock rockers are roller tipped already.

    I ran a 8.234 during my 12.80 1/4 mile run STOCK with ONLY a borla catback before the cam (just barely above 400hp). Learn to handle that 570hp; then talk trash. Typical mustang driver.
