1. German national debt is 86% of GDP, compare that to yours of 82%. It recently went up by a quarter because we had to save our (and your) banks after your banks crashed the world economy. Now we´re having to support Greece, Ireland and Portugal after your banks trashed their economy.

I never said that Germans were responsible for WW2. The fact remains that the history of Germany is stained with tyranny and injustice.

Where exactly do you spot a factual error ion my post? Your right in one respect: German "external debt" isn´t 86%, national debt to GDP, however, is. External debt to GDP is 143%, not 170%. That, on the other hand, is immaterial, since the german economy is highly export oriented (more so than the US). Why do you think, german credit rating is still AAA with a stable outlook while that of the US is AAA with a negative outlook?

The US independent manufacturing output is $2.2T and we account for 20% of total global manufacturing output. I doubt German is anywhere near this considering that their overall, not independent, manufacturing is only $5T.

That may br true, but you need to remember that the US are a economy based on a strong domestic market. The more export-oriented an economy, the easier it is to reduce exterior debt, if desired. The US import 500B worth more goods than they export. Germany exports 162B more than it imports. Also you need to take into account that the US population is roughly four times that of Germany.
All that said: I like the US, they´re not perfect, but then, which country is?
