  • You gotta do a video of Conquest of the World. That game is actually a lot of fun with a friend lol... me and my brothers used to play it for hours on end as kids in the 80s.

  • I want an uncle like Mark.

  • All of the darius games are awesome, nothing cooler than battling gigantic robotic fish ships.

  • How 12 people could dislike this I just don't know....

  • @jensbuhler They're just upset that they couldn't get cool swag for sixty-five bucks.

  • @crisisded haha you're probably right.

  • Darius Gaiden is king!

  • man you get good deals, my shops all charge several dollars for games.

  • a whole video without mentioning LORD KARNAGE some ones gona die

  • I spent countless hours playing Invaders from Hyperspace with my cousin back then. Pretty good game!

  • That is quite a haul there, I gotta say. I'd really like to see you review Star Fox someday, Mark, even though the Undertow Crew already did so. And that NES Godzilla game, too, naturally. All Hail the King of the Monsters! =D

  • Had both of those big box games for Videopac G7000 and they were ultra awesome in 1980, especially for someone living in Yugoslavia ;-)

  • i just love to see games that have either east of west germany in them.

its so classic. like Nintendo World Cup on the NES.

  • This makes it clear to be how over-priced video games are where I live (Australia).

  • most of the old games in the uk are pretty cheap

  • Childrens, I PLAYED QUEST FOR THE RINGS ON MY ORIGINAL ODYSSEY² !

It uses the maps and a "master" itnteracts whit the keyboard (yes ODYSSEY² have a keyboard). It was awesome, the game try to mix the table RPG whit a video game.

Everybody on 1985 had an Atari 2600, and when my friends see all that things (I was 6 years old) they went crazy!

This game, together whit ENDURO (Atari 2600), TMNT (Arcade), and Final Fantasy VI (SNES), make me love Video Game Forever, i will play VG until I die!

  • i wonder if anyone from the NWO has ever play Conquest Of The World

  • WOW, that QFTR was quite a find- looks like it's brand new.

  • plz make a #2.

  • I REALLY wanna see a review of Quest for the Rings!

It´s actually more expensive than the Odissey itself around here.

    C'mon Mark!

  • Damn prices there in the USA are soo cheap

all of the prices here are preety high, even on second-hands,and then people are still asking the prime-price >_>

  • This game was da bomb for the Odyssey 2 back then

  • computer intro is the fucking shit. did you ever play it?

  • Conquest of the World! One of the best for that system...way before it's time.

  • years ago my cousin bought an old atari and i was like woohoo! i hadnt played atari since i was probably 5 yrs old and after i played it for just a few minutes i was like this sucks. we really thought we had something. i can only imagine what the future will hold.

  • @danrichards23 wow thats cool haha how old are you now? if you're wondering why im just asking

  • @allanbrito123 im 29.

  • Magnavox didn't f*ck around.

  • You can never tell if those football games are American football or normal football without looking at the picture. :P

  • and think 1 of today's games cost the same amount as all of these

  • Oh no! Did your copy of Quest for the Rings not come with the plastic sheet that covers the keyboard? You kinda need it to set the game up properly and pick the right locations etc - (I think anyway, I'm trying to remember something I played a good 20-22 years ago!) Aw man, if you didn't get that in your box thats just cruel. I remember my brother buying this from a school jumble sale in the 90s - we thought it was going to be amazing but the game itself is actually quite terrible! lol

  • 4:22

    NERDGASM !!!!

  • those magnet things look like allsorts candies

  • where is the review for Computer Intro?

  • Dang, I just have an N64 and all $65 would get me is 5 games... :(

  • ultraman sucks

  • where do you get your games from?

  • Spending sprees are the essence of collecting: the exhileration of finding bargains, picking up stuff you've never heard of, maybe even finding a shiny gem that you would never have imagined to be so good without trying it. Enter with a full wallet, leave penniless but loaded with cartridges, discs and boxes of various sizes. Absolute perfection.

  • @Tryzon a flea market is how I got my genesis version of worms. I've been a fan of the series ever since.

  • @BillyCauseyjr I never realised that Worms was on Genesis before. It's one of those games that was ported to nearly anything, even the Jaguar.

  • I will give you $140 for that lot

  • Mark is such a bargain hunter!

That's an excellent deal right there!

I seem to always pay up the nose for these things.

  • I found the one line about Fire Fly ("This game's pretty banged up on the outside, but it's what on the inside that count.") kinda funny, especially since anyone who has seen that review knows whatever is on the inside ain't all that great.

Seriously, that's a nice little bounty for sixty-five bucks. Where I live, you'd be lucky to get two games for that much.

  • Damn, where do you find games so cheap, in Canada these things are hard to find in my area.

  • its the beauty of living in a country where nobody appreciates what they have xD

  • @UnchainTheNight1 pshh... In alabama there is a 2800 going for $2,000. cheap in the country my ass.

  • holy crap a mint condition one with that wicked games cabinet isnt even worth that

  • @UnchainTheNight1 tell me about it... the thing is banged up and probably doesn't work.

  • dude... the 2800 is rare

  • I want to see a starfox review

  • He Lives on the USA's East Coast

  • Pittsburgh, PA

  • I want to see what Quest For The Rings is about.

  • @Tryzon it's pretty wicked, one of my first memories of gaming, we never really used the board/chips and all that crap, can simply play the game 2 player, might be more fun using the board though, I dunno.

  • @BadKoopah Sounds epic. I'm sure Lord Karnage would approve.

  • With such a huge pile of O2 games, we need more reviews of them as soon as updates start coming consistently again.

  • man i remember having an O2 as a kid, and getting quest for the rings and conquest of the world. those games ruled. kids today with ps3s and 360s should check out how it all got started, this is great stuff

  • ......I always wonder how you guys get stuff so frickin' cheap...you guys are so lucky...the only place I can really get O2 games is Ebay and I want Quest For The Rings! but on Ebay it's like 60$...so....you're unbelievably lucky to get all those all for 65$...it's rare to get those two O2 board/video games and complete....yeah...You guys should review those O2 games soon =D.

  • i like the ending

  • I hate when resale shops put their stupid stickers on top of the game labels!

  • @Neilsama Yes but this is from the exchange and their labels come off super easily and dont leave residue (usually)

  • @Neilsama Sometimes you can use a hairdryer and blow the hot air directly on the sticker for several minutes and it will make the glue on the sticker soft and it can be removed. Just don't use the hairdryer on something that might get ruined or damaged. I learned this from removing the price stickers from used LP's I bought :)

  • That's why I love classic video games. A lot of them are extremely fun, but only a few cost very much. Even the consoles are pretty cheap. An working sega model 1 cost me $10 with 10 games.

  • That Quest for the Rings looks epic! I wish I had that, just for collecting. I have no plans to acquire an Odyssey, but that box is just plain sweet ^_^

  • The Odyssey 2 was actually a pretty decent system...better than the Atari 2600, I think. K. C. Munchkin ate the Atari Pacman.

  • I agree on your first point there, but the Atari comes out on top in terms of games, not least because of the legendary Berserk.

  • Berserk actually turned out pretty well on the Atari. But most of the games seemed like half-assed renditions of arcade games. I think Atari still wanted you to spend cash at the Arcade.

There were a few Atari games that rocked, like Berserk and Pitfall and Pitfall 2, but many were bad. Atari got it right, I think, with the 7800, which was an extremely underrated system.

  • Berserk on Atari is indeed a quality port of a quality game. And I also think that the 7800 looks like a perfectly decent system that may have been unfairly crushed by the NES, but it's an expensive aquisition for the sake of 60 games, some of which are updated ports.

  • They aren't THAT expensive, but it was only a few games, especially compared to the NES. It also sucks that no one developed for the 7800, and most of the arcade games for it were happily ported over to the NES anyway, with better graphics too. The 7800 was a fairly powerful system that no one took advantage of.

I bought my 7800 for 25 bucks at a flea market, though looking on ebay, they seem to be selling for about 40

  • True, but especially here in the PAL territory 7800s are much less common, and only if one miraculously turned up at a car boot sale or something would I get one. There are simply other consoles available for less with many more good games on them.

  • Ah, I didn't realize you were in a PAL place. Here in the states, it's fairly easy to get a 7800. I heard that the commodore amiga was pretty popular in the PAL regions..I want to get my hand on one of those.

  • It can be tough in PAL-Land, especially if you're looking for particularly retro things like the 7800.

As for the Commodore Amiga, I know nothing about it expect that it was a PC of some sort and was indeed popular 'round these parts. Can't say I've ever seen one: they were from before I really cared about PC gaming. So long ago...

  • Mighty Zeus, so many Odyssey games!

Also we need more SNES reviews. It seems weird buying one and a load of games but then only looking at a few of them.

  • I wish I lived in the US so I oculd get stuff from ebay. Sure I can buy a game lot for like 20$ but then it costs 70$ to post :(

  • i think your missing the keyboard overlay for quest of the rings

  • You must review those two boxset games! They look epic!

  • That Quest for the Rings game looks like a hell of a find!! I love your Odyssey reviews.

  • firefly is banged up at the front but its what on the inside that counts... whitch is even more banged up

  • have you reviewed the conquest of the world and quest for the ring yet? because if you have i havent seen it around...

  • I don't get it? Are the board games seperate or do you play the video game side by side?

  • Holy cow that's one hell of a game package, you rarely see that sort of thing, especially for an really old school game like the Magnavox Odyssey.

You have too many videos, I'm still finding new ones haha

  • Can't wait for the magnavox

    odessey 2 game Conquest of

    the World, sounds awesome.

  • I got a starwing for 2 pounds no joke

  • You lucky, lucky bastard! :D Retro games are WAY too expensive here in finland. LOOSE NES and SNES cost like almost 20 USA dollars and something like 13 US pounds.

  • He lives near a store that sells old school games and systems (or sorta near he did a video of it) that's lucky though. I gotta buy mine from Ebay and such.

  • i knoooooow, it's the same in Norway!!

And god damn it sucks =/

  • Its hard to be a retro-gamer in skandinavia, huh? If you want to order cheap games from online, the postal fees are always something like 10 euros or something. Annoying as fuck!

  • indeed!

And there are NO stores that sells old video games where i live, and theres 50.000 people that lives here, and we need some retro games!

But you can buy used games online here, but they are like 20-40 dollars, sucks ass!

  • Totally! We have one store in the city, but i had to pay about 18 dollars for mickey mania wich is one of the most common SNES games ever made. Cool spot is there and its like 15 dollars. And there are about 4 NES and Snes games so i dont go there much. Seems like skandinavia is stuck with the internet. Nice to hear some people have the same problem than me: friend reguest comin'! :)

  • And also, if you want a used SNES in Norway, it will cost you almost as much as a Wii or 360 xD

I still have mine from when i was a kid though :D

    It's ridiculus =P

    Cool :D

  • Wow, thats expensive... I bought myself a new one from huuto(dot)net Its like finnish ebay and it didnt really cost much... Something like 70 bucks with wires, controller and 3 games.

  • Omg =P

    NICE!!!!

    What games? :P

  • Actually not so good on the games side: Stunt race FX ( i did a review of it on moeroshop.)

Pitfall the mayan adventure:Nah. I prefer the original, and mario all-stars, if i remember correctly.

You can probably guess what i played the most when i was able to play those 3 games the first time in years!

  • Mario 3 FTW :D

  • Every mario game ever made expect mario hotel and the games on that mario screwattack list are awesome!

    You know screwattack?

  • I love screwattack! :D

  • Awesome! :) The top 10's are just too awesome... :D

  • yeah!!! :D

I watched all of the top 10's before i checked out any of the other videos xD

  • AVGN and top tens are the best of the site... Too bad handsome tom left...

  • yeah, can't forget about the AVGN ^^

    Know =/

I actually sent an email to stuttering Craig asking who's the better street fighter player; him or Tom.

    And he answered xDD

  • Seriously? :D Well, who is the SF-master?

  • *drum roll*

    And i quote:

"Considering I taught the guy everything he knows about Street Fighter I think it's pretty safe to say that I am. Does it matter though? Not really. For the record though, I'd kick his ass and his only source of victory came from lame throw glitches. "

  • I cant believe stuttering graig would have the time to anwser questions like that... :)

    Got to email him now!

    maybe not. :)

  • I know xD

    Really diden't expect a reply :D

  • Yeah, its awesome when "popular" people say something to you! :)

I once saw actually a dream that i was hanging out with lemmy from motörhead! :) When i woke up i was pissed off 'cause it werent true.

  • hahaha :D

  • Yea. I was all like "Holy fuck its lemmy! Can you give me an autograph?" Well, he did and then we went to the bar and drank ourselves half-dead.. :D Got my messenger working so we dont have to piss of mark with this converstation... :)

  • hehe, smart ;)

  • star fox cost $6.00!! that bs.

  • there was a quest for the rings game for sale at the game store i go to. big box and looked cool, too bad i dont have a magnavox oddessey (sp) 2

  • 2.50 for ultraman? way too much, that game is AWFUL xD

  • LOL easte germany how the time goes by , huh? And USSR thats even more hilarious you win epically, now go and play that saturn boss.

  • So this is the lot of Odissey2 games you were talking about :D very cool, but what made me almost cry of emotion were the Quest for the Rings and the Conquest for the World packaging and stuff, oh my god!, when you opened the map of Conquest I was about to put a comment about looking for USSR.. but you looked for East Germany so you also looked for something similar, and I think that looking for East Germany is a higher ranking of Rad than looking for USSR, so you win and can now play Rad Racer.

  • math a magic!? That's my favorite!!!!!

    OK, well..... maybe not...

It's good to know this stuff is being preserved though. This is entertainment history, and people just throw it away. These are tomorrow's antiques people! Gaming will only get bigger as time goes by (It's already a bigger industry than the movie industry) we must preserve it's roots!!!

  • COOL

  • Take the money and run! that's what today bitchy GTA parents were playing back in their youth! they have no right to complain...

finally, we got them by the balls!

  • dude, good snes games:

    Contra III

    Super Mario World

    Zelda Link to the Past

    Donkey Kong Country 1-3

    Castlevania IV

    Mortal Kombat 2

    Pilotwings

    look for these!

  • Those are the type of games that'll cost him a pretty penny these days.

  • your point?

  • He's probably looking for the best possible prices for the games he buys so if he sees something like starfox thats been priced at about $10 or less, he'll probably get it.

  • where did you buy all these games at, please tell me

  • haha, awesome!

Please review Quest for the Rings and Conquest of the World!

  • Super R-type is a good one, Utraman=Ultrasuck.

  • i wish i could fined games that cheap

  • unfair where do you buy your games... its expensive at my place

  • As a matter of fact, I have. I've been a gamer since I was five years old, playing Pitfall on my uncle's Atari 2600. And let me tell you, these retro games are just as much fun now as they were then. Even today, I love firing up my emulators to relish in the games I loved. Games like Double Dragon and Contra were every bit as good as Halo 3 or Gears of War.

  • Why don't you try them sometime? You might like it.

  • Quest for the Rings and Conquest of the World both look incredible. They both look like a board game and video game combined. I'm dying to see a review!

  • GET EARTHBOUND!!!! It's expensive be cause it was a low seller but it's one of my favorite games ever, next to Half Life and Super Mario World.

  • Some great finds there....loved the way they packed those Odyssey 2 games....!

  • yea those are amazing quality

  • I love picking up classic games when they're real cheap :P

  • where do you buy theese games?

  • did you know that there is only 50 odyssey 2 games and you have about 19 of them, keep it up can't wait to see more of your reviews.

  • wow those odyssey 2 games come in really impressive packaging. I have never seen packaging like that on any other console game.

  • I know, that's some of the best packaging I've seen for a game, even better than a lot of these new "collector's edition" packaging they have for some games... well not as good as the Legendary Edition Halo 3, I just love that helmet.

  • Damn, If only you could find old games for those prices here in sweden.

An old snes game would probably be 10-20$ here.

  • Darius Gaiden is a great game, but I'd totally suggest you pick up G. Darius for the PSX. Best game in the series and one of the best shooters on the Playstation.

  • Its sad they dont made game like that today you know the boardgame

  • You should do Computer Intro one. :)

  • ultra man sucks

  • It's good if you have the manuel, I rented it once and got SO PISSED about not being able to beat those monsters... OMG it pissed me off so much and that was pre-internet, it wasn't until a friend bought it that I found out how to kick ass at the game... God it was like Mortal Combat, but the only way to win was actually pulling off the fatality...

  • more games to review

  • You bought a large number of games in one go? Pretty impressive! Have fun dividing your attention to each and every one of them.

  • starfox is a game i own and its graphics are the best ive seen for the s-nes

  • Pick up Darius Twin for the snes. Great tunes, graphics, gameplay. Being a shooter fan you've probably already played it to death!

  • Looks ok

  • I hate you Mark, that gamestore near me probably sells Starfox for at least 30 dollars..oh, I agree, Darius Gaiden is awesome, I burned it for Saturn and it's great. I'd have easily payed 15 dollars+ for it.

  • take the money and run-win lol

  • your gonna like super godzilla!

  • whatever you paid for firefly, it was too much, thats the worst game ever made by far.

However as a collector I ended up with 3 copies of it...and 2 of Sorceror (the same game with differant visuals, and a hoverboard)

anyway, thats a great haul for what you paid, gratz!

  • Great video and what a bargain!! I will be buying an Atari soon too :)

  • foh

  • Guy-den. Yeah. Not gayden.

  • when you said that, i imagined that guy from the wizard who was like "ninja GAI-DEN!!!"

  • wow, you make me want to BUY BUY BUY!

    materialism ahoy!!

  • kool i ordered an oddyessy 2 off ebay!

  • "A guy being attacked by tenticals and that thing there..." Best quote ever.

  • REally awesome

  • And good luck with airwolf (its suck) lol

  • Just a joke I forget to say it :)

  • "soundz like mabey they need to seek COUNSELING" haha Classic!

u guyz r tha past present & future of video gamez. hearz an idea. tha dog{4giv mi, idont know tha name}wakez up frum a dream that tha game was almost in her or his grasp.,SURPRISE! & doez the greatezt review 4 tha greatezt game eva!

    T.O.N.!!!!!!!

ThanX i had fun watching thiz

  • Well you took our advice! ALL GLORY STAR FOX! :)

  • Ultraman Ultra sucks!

  • Ssssssh, don't tell them!

  • Awsome

  • This weekend with the $65 I got from Revver, I bought a signed copy of Lair for the PS3, Red Faction II, HeadHunter & Second Sight for the PS2, a Street Fighter II Genesis Plug and Play machine and a Chintendo Vii.

    Seriously!

  • Hey, whatz the music at the end? ^^

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have both of those Godzilla games.

  • Hey Mark, did ya buy that O2 lot just cause it had "Bowling!" in it so you could review it and dedicate that review to me? LOL Great buys there for $65! :)

  • This is really freaking weird. The day I am anxious to get out of work and head to the game store where I picked up my Sega CD, you release a video about the same thing except about a Saturn. The day I go out and spend $70 on retro games, you do the same. WTF man!?!?!!?!
