  • Where do u put the pump? In the bottom of the filter or in the tank? thanks

  • Can you show how the pump was hooked up?

  • I was thinking about something like this idea only as a HOB filter.

  • So If I have a 225 GPH powerhead and want to make something like this to work with it, what can I do to prevent overflow?

  • hey dude i m not getting u what is carbon? and how water suck from tank? any pump?? if ya what type of pump where is that fit? tell me in detail please nice project!

  • @RK4226 i assume youre not english ,so carbon is what's left of wood when burned ,but its not the usual carbon you need to get activated carbon from a pet shop.

    pumps are found everywhere...

  • were can you get the fittings or the t and straight tube things

  • @Paintball52403 home depo or lowes

  • where did u get the fittings at?? i looked at walmart and they didnt have any. shud i go to a hardware store?? plz reply

  • @dilworth1130 just use PVC Pipe at a hardware store, the home depot near buy my place has it for 98 cents for 10 Feet of 3\4 inch and the fittings and elbows are 28 Cents each pipeing for my whole Sump Setup was less that 10 bucks

  • 0:17 OK!

  • I have a 55 gallon fish tank. Question: is it the bigger the water pump is the longer the fish tank stays clean? and how much would you estimate the cost of the pump you made? thanks!

  • where does the pump go i may try to do this filter

  • you have a big arse tank lik,e that for 1 turtal haha i got one art thay so cool

  • it a sump to me thx

  • I just did this and the water is flowing into the tank good but the water goes above the overflow tube and starts spilling completely over the top, what do you think I'm doing wrong?

  • Does your pump process more than 75 gal an hour? That might by why

  • i dont get the hoses.....which one goes where?

as in wich one is the input and out put but there is a third one...

  • The other one is so the water doesn't over flow.

  • The bottom hole is for the output from the filter. The lower top hole is the intake from the tank. The upper top hole is the overflow which connects to the T on the bottom.

  • I made this filter and it works great! thanks

  • that was cool but what pump do u need to use for that big tube text me back plz thanks

  • 5 stars...bravo! An idea i have for the pump is use a small siphon with a fish net over it attached to a tube which is attached to the intake. Get the siphon working, make a holder attached to the side of the tank which holds the siphon thats i guess a clip on and you got a cheap, non electric using pump! Deffinitly going to try this for my 50 gallon cichlid tank!

  • @EpiLesPaul24

Just did this on your advice, solved a 6 hour problem I have been trying to solve.

    Good Luck,

    Peace, Chris

  • where did you connect your pump?

  • yes u can ues any size pump and any size tubbing u like just a base idea" run with it "

  • lol,tat big tank n only one tortoise??

  • @jayoint250 how often do you need to do water changeS?

  • @jayoint250 if the water over flows and the water goes into the overflow tube and into the return tube, will there be anymore spaces for the overflow water to go into that tube?how will it be able to drain the overflow water when it cannot even drain the water in the bottom tub?anyone can answer this question>?pls reply

  • can i use smaller tubs?

    my aquarium is 15 gallons

  • What pump do i turn on?
