There is a verbal teaching and there is an action teaching. Buddha's verbal teaching example was His Four Noble Truths teachings. His, I suppose, first teachings to five ascetics, yogis who practiced self-torture with an idea of attaining higher level of spiritual experience. Sutra teaching is a verbal teachings example. Lord Buddha once, instead of speaking to a crowd, only rose a flower. That's all. Mahakashyapa smiled and got Buddha's aproval. Jets. Tenz. Palmo, try to express through action.
