The weight standards that people seem to hold up as their ideal are completely ridiculous. I can't speak for anyone else, but I prefer a woman to be soft, rounded, and healthy, rather than anorexic. If a person is so overweight that they are suffering health problems or cannot do all that they would like to be able to do, that is a different issue, and in that instance a person SHOULD lose weight. But to call someone fat callously like that is shameful.
Also 105 pounds, that's not FAT!!! even at 138 pounds its still not fat. And just cause some people are skinny doesn't mean that we have a eating disorder! I'm skinny too but just barely.

@natalia4220 Your doctor should be able to assess your body fat percentage. There's a chance that a good amount of your weight comes from muscle. If that's the case, that's very healthy.

@AnnaBRProductions101 I feel really strongly about not making animals suffer (but I don't wish to impose my feelings on anyone else). If I accidentally consume meat, I become extremely sick because the body has to learn to create enzymes to break down meat (and I obviously don't have those having never been a meat eater). Additionally, I believe that MY kind of vegetarianism (learning how to still consume the right nutrients) is healthier and studies show I will live longer because of it.
@AnnaBRProductions101 The couple times I forced myself to taste meat (from chicken to fish to steak), I found it SOOOOO disgusting tasting I spit it out, had to wash out my mouth and felt like I was going to vomit for the next hour. And finally, I was RAISED without meat. As in, since infancy, I have not been a meat eater. I am ETERNALLY grateful to my parents for this... and I hope VERY much that one day I will have the willpower to become vegan.
@AnnaBRProductions101 Ultimately, eating meat is as bizarre and gross to me as it is for, say, Americans to watch Chinese eat a dog or a cat or something like that. It's very much about cultural context. And being raised in a vegetarian world (nearly everyone I grew up with was vegetarian), my cultural context is what it is. My husband eats all the kinds of meats that an American would. I just have to not watch him eat... and make him brush his teeth and use mouthwash before kissing me. ;-)

Just curious, was the drug mirtazapine? I was on that because of it's primary antidepressant use, but i had to go off it because it spiked my appetite too much. In my case it wasn't good as I really do have to shed weight, i am clinically obese, and have had weight loss surgery.
Having done some work around eating disorders I think you are very right about weight being the subject of too much focus and being ingrained from early childhood, particularly for girls.

things have changed so much with today's society. a couple thousand years back, da Vinci wasn't painting women who looked malnourished. in fact, most of those women wouldn't even come close to meeting today's standards. BUT, they were normal! i'm in the same boat as you with the metabolism thing. it's getting harder for me to find acceptance for how much i've changed. i think the only thing you should worry about is being healthy. you are beautiful! don't let anyone rob you of your sanity.
Do you know a good way to lose weight fast? I'm 13, and pretty overweight. I'm not huge, but I have a stomach roll, I jiggle when I walk, and I'm totally embarrassed because I have stretch marks........ I need to lose like, at least 30 pounds.....do you know how to do it fast, but healthy fast?
@TheLindzaaa There is no quick and easily solution. It's about exercising an hour a day and mixing it up with something calm like Yoga one day, something like jogging the next, and weight-training the next... keep it interesting so you don't get bored. Dance classes save my ass because I find exercise boring.
And make sure you are eating the recommended amount of calories, carbs, protein and sodium. No more, no less and you should be fine!!

If I accidentally consume meat, I become extremely sick because the body has to learn to create enzymes to break down meat (and I obviously don't have those having never been a meat eater). Additionally, I believe that MY kind of vegetarianism (learning how to still consume the right nutrients) is healthier and studies show I will live longer because of it.

@AnnaBRProductions101 The couple times I forced myself to taste meat (from chicken to fish to steak), I found it SOOOOO disgusting tasting I spit it out, had to wash out my mouth and felt like I was going to vomit for the next hour. And finally, I was RAISED without meat. As in, since infancy, I have not been a meat eater. I am ETERNALLY grateful to my parents for this... and I hope VERY much that one day I will have the willpower to become vegan.

It's very much about cultural context. And being raised in a vegetarian world (nearly everyone I grew up with was vegetarian), my cultural context is what it is. My husband eats all the kinds of meats that an American would. I just have to not watch him eat... and make him brush his teeth and use mouthwash before kissing me. ;-)

Just curious, was the drug mirtazapine? I was on that because of it's primary antidepressant use, but i had to go off it because it spiked my appetite too much. In my case it wasn't good as I really do have to shed weight, i am clinically obese, and have had weight loss surgery.
Having done some work around eating disorders I think you are very right about weight being the subject of too much focus and being ingrained from early childhood, particularly for girls.

weight only matters in a medical point of view, but if someone is within correct measures, the rest is up to his/her self-steem, liking what kind of body-genetics has and having healthy looking by healthy living (doing sport, having a balanced-nutrient diet, and so on...).

things have changed so much with today's society. a couple thousand years back, da Vinci wasn't painting women who looked malnourished. in fact, most of those women wouldn't even come close to meeting today's standards. BUT, they were normal! i'm in the same boat as you with the metabolism thing. it's getting harder for me to find acceptance for how much i've changed. i think the only thing you should worry about is being healthy. you are beautiful! don't let anyone rob you of your sanity.

It's about exercising an hour a day and mixing it up with something calm like Yoga one day, something like jogging the next, and weight-training the next... keep it interesting so you don't get bored. Dance classes save my ass because I find exercise boring.
And make sure you are eating the recommended amount of calories, carbs, protein and sodium. No more, no less and you should be fine!!

We're human beings, our weight will fluctuate and change as we age, if we get ill, etc. I don't understand why people can't just accept that, respect people for who and what they are and move on.
Obsession with weight looks so silly a few years down the line, when you realise how ailly an obsession it is.
So long as you feel good, you are in reasonable health and happy in yourself, then there isn't a problem. Remember the song "I am what I am!" use that as a template people! :-))
