  • high earning youth?...really? laos is one of the poorest counties on the planet

  • @abk1s8 i know right! i went there to see my great grandma and its dirt road. i go to thailand its liek being in the states!

  • GO LAOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ALSO 5TH FLOOR.....

  • I CARE ABOUT 4TH FLOOR.......LOLOLOL

  • the sonority of narrator's voice sounds quite similar to that of Robert DowneyJr's, but there's a distinctive pronunciation trait so I don't think it's him. interesting

  • Yes, I have been to Laos. Your country, Laos, still has a long way to go. Highways to be built, domestic and international airports, colleges an universities, etc...my forefather came to America on the Mayflower. They fought for independence from England and won. They fought during American civil war to set other men free. Don't get upset with me. I have nothing against you or your country. Get real!!! Get education first and wealth will follow.

  • @escogidouno Not true,,education leads man to work,,Business is a key to wealth

  • @escogidouno I highly doubt your "forefather" game on the Mayflower mate.

  • I was raised in a concentration camp in laos and Im happy that laos is doing good and trying to improved. All the negative comments are not necessary. Yes they are poor people in laos but that is everywhere in the world so know your shit before u make an ass out of yourself. Some laos people are poor but because they are lazy or a drunk like some people i see here in the U. S. and other part of the world....

  • I Love Laos!

  • Many of the laotian people are very wealthy. Can you imagine someone CASHed a Hummer in Laos? Hummer is the most expensive car in Laos. Purchasing cars there only done with Cashed, no financing! People there Cashed their cars. They drove Mercedes, BMW, POrsche, and etc.... How can you say they are not r3eady?

  • @keavonvaj I agreed with you. Only the ignorant will talk shit about something that they do not know...

  • ..I LOVE LAO!..

  • You must be smoking pot or something. 99% of the people will not be able to afford any of these goods. Build better school and educate your people first. Then, the mall like this will come but not now.

  • @escogidouno suck a dick!!

  • @escogidouno Have you been to Laos? You'll be surprised of what we (laotians) can afford. Don't let your ignorant make you look like ass on the damn internet fool!

  • @escogidouno Yup. I think you're the only person who isn't being mislead by this corporate advertising. Income disparity will be a huge problem. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. This is happening all over the world. "Success!" is when a country has designer clothing, not health care, apparently.

  • go laos i will see u soon..... hopefully

  • Why go against it? Wouldn't Laos be more popular and richer from this?

  • I never never interest to coming back to this country because right now Pha and Larn still selling those young girls around the street to those peoples who come from other country for American New Dollars, but Laos Communist they said they didn't really like American, but this country is used American New Dollars bill only this Country they never take Thai money so every one in this Country they collected all American money so that why we didn't have enought American Money in USA so hope to sayf

  • @LaosFreedomDemocracy haaaaaaaaaaa

  • An interesting concept but an average Lao person can never afford the stuff in this mall and the average Lao merchant can never afford the rent. Just like in the video you see white men, women and children so we can say this mall is not met for a average Lao citizens.

  • This is disgusting. Please tell me this is a joke. Laos is a beautiful, peaceful country with a great culture. First the west bombs it back to the stone-age, now they go in and bombard them with this consumer hell? People of Laos-rise up and destroy this monstrosity!

  • My wife is one of the expats mentioned in the presentation. She is excited to visit her family again and see the new megamall after it opens. I enjoyed many of the traditional vendors we visited when I have gone to Laos, but I too will be glad to see a modern grocery store. Let's hope the average Laotian will be able to enjoy the mall and not priced out.

  • @MikePhetLancaster Dont worry,They have a Plan!!!

  • im confident this mall will turn out nice, just hope the business owners don't turn it into a flea market

  • I am originally from Laos, now studying in Russia, I just want to share their opinions with their fellow countrymen that while the authorities in Laos, the Communist Party, then in Laos never bude human rights and freedom of speech, I am writing this because I know what it is. The people in Laos live in fear, afraid to say what they think, and it's become a tradition. Why we can not try to protect his future at least, the children, their rights

  • @petya568 because they are pha and larn want take control that is why they need every in their hands before said yes to some one or they need to have all those contract paper work and money that from other country in their hand before they add to their hometown, but you know what Laos Communist don't know nothing about other country ideas what they are doing for Laos Communist. We are original from there, but now we out that country so they didn't cared what we saying to them hope it w

  • why didn't make when i was there? not fair :(

  • laos will more

  • @singhaystyle. Thanks buy im actually a female. Lol

  • Laos is moving in the right direction. Good job!!! Go Laos!!

  • The Project is sound good, but is it worth the money?!

  • @marut71 a lot of people will have job = money > lot of tax / lot of under table money for some > many new things going to hapen such as new road, ..... more rich people hope not poorer to some ( but don't think so ) future is there for all > my taget is there when i'm going > i'm going to start saving for next year open > see you there - ( from new zealand.)

  • Hi i'm a Lao Canadian and i love my lao people and my country of birth I saw the mega mall being built and i can't wait to go back and go shopping. I travel to many countries but there's no place like home Laos is a vacation place to go home to visit familyfor all lao around the world. To make things better we need a world class hospital in laos and we need laos to open a Canadian embassy to improve trade and improve tourists

  • @stickynudong Hey you don't know if you want to go back you must change the New Dollar bill that frest from bank to change worst Laos Communist money to spending in Laos country for a month sure be Ok for you, but do not bring the old Dollar bill with you Laos Communist they didn't change your Dollar bill for you so you don't get Laos communist money to spend at that Mall than every things in that mall is not cheap you have to bring American big New Dollars bill to spend in that m

  • Yaaaaay!! Congratulations Laos, welcome to shallow, soulless consumerism.

  • If we're going to have alot of This,we Will Need alot of Good Cop's and Swat team, and A Very Strong army.

  • Hi Laos. don't think too much negative thing about your country, I love Lao people and your country. Not only local investors, but also foreign once needs to cooporate to build up the country. So, I believe Foreign Direct Investments absolutely create more jobs then people are more employed. Just for example this video shows the new project. You should be happy:) Cheers from Cambodia :)

  • @CoolMan9958 Thanks,Please come again Lol :D

  • @CoolMan9958 Hey you love this country because they dum they sold everythings to other country and other country control all this laos communist country as everythings in Laos they own all the lands west to east than North to South so that is why now they beginning build more Dam to all good size to sold for good prices to other Country. Sooner later we can see what happen back to Laos Communist and will be war again than will sperate from or divide to who that help this country.

  • this will be a great boost for the lao people and the economy.

  • Mall is better than no Mall...Speaking Chinese is better than Vietnamese. We are returning to the root...aren't our orgin from the north but I do prefer for us to speak English

  • @LaoKhenLaoMee Correct, and Plus Chinese Eduacation is far suprior Than other languages. This can us grow into a Smart Land of Laos :),Iam going to Create Excelente Lao's :) Lol

  • You have to start from somewhere. No country start out big, they all start working from bottom to the top. To all of you out there, if you dislike the project then don't go there. If you can't embrace change or support it, then don't don't go there. Why talk negative about your own people and motherland.

  • @latsanok very well said bro

  • This is a bad investment because Laos was always poor and is among the lowest economy countries but who know ,like the guy said in the video ,the gdp should grow about 8% in a few years. Laos people are some gamble-holics, a casino there might be sucessful haha

  • All these "developments" are created by Chinese money. You Laos are trading your souls to the Chinese. We'll see where all this takes you. I predict in 20 years, all Laotians will speak Chinese and don't remember their native culture.

  • @Microglia1 I agree with you.

  • we are dam poor. It's not worth to build a mall here because we don't have the money to do the shopping.

  • Us laos people cant built anything. We just know how to cook, dance funny, and sing funny folks songs. and eat Endanger Species.

  • fuck..this mall is not built by laos government ..it will be built by private investor instead.

  • oh yes!! after my families hotel is built i am going to shop til i drop in the vicinity!!

  • Comment removed

  • Laos will have the biggest mall in IndoChina!!! wow! congrat to laos!

  • @shitnamese401 Haha,Thanks and i think you Mean SOUTHEASTASIA.......:D Huge Thanks to China :)

  • Don't people understand that this is directed to tourist and what not. Since this is an ad in plain English. I don't hear any Laotian in this ad. Just gtgo and get over it. I would gladly visit the place when its done. My parents are even holidaying there at the moment.

  • People saying Laos is too poor and say that they don't even have enough money to buy things there are stupid. If you watched the video you would have learned that it is for tourists to not just Laotian people. Also there are more tourists in Laos each year so this idea wouldn't bring Laos down in would bring it up. Use your heads and eyes and ears before you express your opinion

  • Well said here...I bet they should have open their eyes wisely be4 they write their opinions....Or else they should learn how to respect to others and do not act like DOGS barkin'............

  • How dare people dislike this ! Lao people deserve this !

  • We are ready to develop our country and this is what we call developments !!! I am Lao and i love Laos :)

  • my wife is Laos but all of her family live in Thailand, USA, and Canada....

  • I LOVE LAOS, CAMBOJA, VIETNAM, MYANMAR, THAILAND...

  • LAOS IS THE BEST...for all of you that not ready to move forward dont drag other down with u

  • this will be a great inspiration to Lao Students learning.......

  • LAOS COMMUNIST IS THE POOR AZZ IN THE WOLRD, LAOS COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT ONLY CORRUPTION NO DEVELOPMENT THE COUNTRY, LAOS COMMUNIT WAS UNDER CONTROL BY CHINA AND VIETNAM LAOS COMMUNIST CAN'T REALLY DO SH!T

  • @BabyBBB01 China is a Great,Laos will be Most Deveolped Country in SoutheastAsia at 2025

  • @LanXangLaoSThaBrave yes, China is a GREAT, LAOS COMMUNIST KEEP DREAMING THAT LAOS COMMUNIST WILL DEVELOPED IN YEAR 2025 but, at that year China and Vietnam already took over the Laos communist

  • Like it or not there are more people of Lao descent living in Thailand than in Laos.

Laos is going through a lot of changes and influences with China influencing in N. Laos and Vietnam in S. Laos.

There are so many Chinese people living in Laos and they don't speak Lao, same goes for Vietnamese people in Southern Lao cities of Pakse, Attapeu, Salavan. Basically, Laos is colonized by Vietnam with 60,000 troops. With these influences, will Lao people be able to maintain its culture?

  • Conspicuous consumption is not the kind of progress the Lao people need. KoadPaulLaoDang is right!

  • Any country that invest in Laos will lose profit any way because of the poverty of Lao people.

  • PART 2: Obviously this isn't really targeted to the majority of Lao people, but you can't forget the international visitors and expats who come and visit this beautiful country. Give this project an opportunity because at the end of the day it will bring jobs and help stimulate the economy.

  • PART 1: I have mixed feelings about this... I would definitely come and shop here when it opens, but having close relations in the Government (I won't say who) it contradicts what they told my parents about plans to commercialise. Laos is a country I adore for its natural beauty and it's obviously a place that can attract tourist without the glitz and glamour, but there's a point where they need to break through and make it favourable for the international market and this is it.

  • Lao people are so poor. Do you think they will be able to buy anything from the mall? Their teachers only get about $50.00 U.S./month. Working hard for a month to get a pair of pants. Is it worth it?

  • soud youd lery..,

  • For people that have negative comments about this project, you should first need to understand about economic and the market. You have to keep in mind that the investors are not stupid to invest in something that they don't foreseen in profitable. They must look at the market, economy, the people and the future before they all come together and implementing the plan. Profits take years to comes and Laos is being develop every single day. Factories, hotels and infrastructure r also built.

  • They can built anything they want, but how many % of people will go shop there. Most of them are so poor, only 1 % of them have money..instead of the mall why not thinking to built the factory.Laos gov. have no brain that's why the country never move forward. If no job..no work..where the money come from?.I'm khon lao american..i love my home town..but i don't c the ways that Laos is ready for this kind of mall.

  • @laosjoker559 if you see laos now is different from before, i just came back from laos and everything change. It got better everyday... you should go back to laos and see before you judge that half of the laos people are poor, if your Laos you saying that your family back over there are poor... don't judge something that didn't happen yet or saying the thing you didn't see yourself. You say you love Laos and all but by saying this to laos people like seriously, that may hurt them.

  • i Love Laos <3 frm BKK :)

  • It is good but I am just concern with their marketing strategy. They said on website that it is $2900 psm but when I called in, (cuz I wanna buy it) they report that it is around 13,000 psm. I don't know why they would advertise a faulty information. I guess they want to draw customers by present a cheap price. This will only lessen they trust from the interest customers.

  • Cool

  • Never trust something that you did not see and touch, for example, the Boten Casino, the bullet train, where is it now?

  • Reading these comments is very interesting and a healthy free time hobby. I think building it is easy, but keeping it operating is another question. currently i have to say that public demand is not that much yet, but i can't foresee the situation is the next 50 y or so, so i have to stay positive. I'll give an example from my own experience, i went to the 24 hour market and i found things are much expensive, so i just had a look and said good bye....

  • not even Cambodia nor Vietnam is ready for this, let alone Laos.

  • @wongtinwai Why not? I come from Indonesia and we're pretty much a poor country too but we've had malls like this for more than 20 years. We built our first mall in the 1970s, and I think in 1980 we built our first western-style mall. In 1990 we built our first luxury megamall just a little bit smaller than this one in Laos (with international high-end brands like Vuitton, Prada, Gucci) and it's been very very successful since day 1 of opening! Why don't you think that Laos is ready?

  • @eriquerique Indonesia has 240 million people. Even if only 3% are rich, it's over 7 million, bigger than entire Lao population. Do i have to compare Jakarta and Vientiane?

Bottom line is, Laos is not only poor country in terms of household income, but even worse problem is they got too small population. Yes Vientiane is their biggest city, but it has less than 1 million people, and only few of them can afford this kind of luxury mall. I don't really think they need this at this early stage.

  • @alicekawaz Good point. I totally forgot about Laos' population. But even though Vientiane has less than 1 million inhabitants, surely 10% of Vientiane's population can afford luxury goods. That's enough market for 1 mall. And considering that there are no malls like this, would it make sense to argue that malls like this is still worth building?

  • @alicekawaz Dislike

  • @wongtinwai

Have you ever seen Vincom mall in Ho Chi Minh city you dumbfuck?

  • @wongtinwai Vietnam will have the second or third tallest building (PVN Tower) in Asia (completed by 2014) you little HK knows nothing a just shut up. Not to mention our completed building such as Bitexco and Keangnam landmark After PVN Tower (102 floors), Vietnam will have: GS Thu thiem 120 floors Saigon Lotte tower 111 floors Ma Lang complex 85 floors Lotus Tower 100 floors Wonderful World Theme Park 88 floors The Van Phu Victoria 80 floors Saigon Center 3: 66 floors Viettin Bank 68 floors
  • Laos is ready for anything.....

  • its a good start, but i feel bad for the investors because a Gucci bag or a macbook costs more then your average laos home.

  • indeed, the majority of Laotian all around Laos are poor but the majority of Laotian from the Vientiane Capital aren't. This shopping mall if it is really built would significantly help Laos to boost it economy in terms of lessing shoppers that need brand name products to shop outside the country and invest in getting these products from that shopping mall.

  • wrong country to build a mall this big. what $ do citizens have to shop there.

  • Yes, I like how the mall going to look, but who is going to shop there? Laos people are poor. They are just going there for air condition only.

  • I find the comments here very silly! How would these people know any about the economic growth, development and investments that are going on over in Laos. I'll let you know, that I like seeing the growth and development in my homeland.

  • So, only 1% rich Lao can go there

Normal Laos would only say "Hey we Laos have this good looking mall!!" and go work for $150 a month.

  • Lao government need to enforce their natural resource if they want to develope the country into the 21th century style.

  • Laos is the slowest development ,if you can build it then do it !

  • lao are from all over the world now i can go home and shope without buying thai good i don't buy thai good here in us caus thai think they betty >>>>>than

  • wow!! very KoadPauLaoDang ur sad I think ur thai u got nothing on lao if i see u i'am going to fuck u up caus i don't like ur kind tell me were u at love lao for life

  • I'm afraid that the new Lao generation is gonna have imoral standards becuz they would try to make money in a bad way to try to shop in that mall.

  • Laos is not ready for this ...!!

  • wow this is too big for laos, don't kno if there will be enuff shoppers with the money to shop there. But don't doubt, I think there's plenty of rich people in Loas too.

  • Laos is not ready to have this kind of mall yet. I think they should continue to shop at the morning market.

  • @KoadPauLaoDang disagree we r ready!!

  • @KoadPauLaoDang you just all all them that think in a small box and afraid too change .. that why you will be come a no one .. if laos want the best for Laos and it ppl then you have to go with the flow like the rest of the world and not get left behind .. you gotta lose something to get something.. you just afraid of change i think this be good for the lao ppl a big shop place a big mall that Laos can call there own im happy for laos this will bring more work for the ppl

  • @KoadPauLaoDang Unless you have actually been to the Vientiane or live in Laos don't be so ignorant. I will admit there are poorer class people (but that's true in any culture) The mall is within the largest city of Laos, the people there can afford it. Its a big milestone; sooner or later this has to happen

  • @KoadPauLaoDang , I totally agree with you

  • @KoadPauLaoDang Funny,But Laos is Ready

  • @KoadPauLaoDang i Disagree with you,Laos need to Grow.....we dont need Negative Comments like you

  • yeah ,what they first need is bookstores ,a good hospital and well equiped schools.

  • @KoadPauLaoDang its basiclly for the New generation of Laos, and the old Generation of Laos can either make a morning market or they can upgrade Lol

  • Who will invest in this project? I Like

  • in just another next 3 years do you think laos will be change from communist ?

  • good

  • Let go shopping in Lao

  • เห็นแล้วอยากไปเที่ยวจัง

  • I love Laos

  • Awesome!! Deee lai D lai.... tee me Mega Mall kop International Mall kop mooo!!!! ;-))

  • I have spent a few nights in Vientiane a few times and to be fair this might just be a blessing in disguise. I normally think mega malls are bad but maybe the Lao people who have a bit of cash can enjoy this and I'm hoping the night club is decent. To progress in Laos.

  • looks nice, i wanna go shop there ;D

  • yeah baby cant wait to buy fake tagheuer clocks and ray ban glasses there next time and walking in the mall avenue while slurping a fresh natural lime smoothie and watching all the hot laos girls in hotpants :) aaaaah i miss my home

  • this good new for lao ppl .. cant wait for it to be done

  • The making of an epic failure!

  • @TheBanna999 I agree with you,i wish most people can be like you,the neighboring countries, and the countries around the world can be the better place to live, with peace, and harmony, good neighboring countries always support eachother,,not to put the other down, the better countries have to have the better heart, and soul too.

  • down with regal global group or whatever theyre calling themselves

  • Best of luck my people. You know buc Air always want the best for his motherland. However, with import taxes at a high rate, corruption rampant, and a LARGE part of the Lao population still living under $200 per month, the last thing that will impact their daily living is a $100 Coach leather bag. Right now, do you know how many slow business shops they are in Laos that already exist? They need wage reform. So the Chinese can put a nice British commentator to this promo all they want.

  • @possible2800 Ha Ha. I processed that math immediately in my head. It does not add up. The guy even threw in the " Billion " dollar world, which is probably all the value of all the entire buildings in Laos combined. Though we must move forward, I just want the best for Laos and Khoan Lao.

  • @alexpho whatever, hope for the best for my country. Try to find some info about it so you can open your eye and see for your self. it is true that one cubic meters is $13.000 and use this to times the area available for sale and u will get the total money earned, then minus cost(I ask them cuz I tam thinking of investing so I could let people rent it, but too expensive. I bought many spaces in new Talat Sao mall for renting and it is cheaper) small boutique won't earn enough $ to pay for space.

  • How come there is no Laos shareholder?
