My music teacher in 6th grade (1988) was Melodie Washington, she sang the chorus and she gets no credit for this song. I have tried to find her. i dont think dizzee ruined this track, but i dont think this track is any better either though, and i dont think dizzee's track is better, its different. While dizzee did write about the same subject and sampled the beat, he did so in the reflection of his own style and was also able to take the subject and theme of this song and apply it to todays entertainment and social landscape of how it seems everybody today just wants to make music to be famous. Similar sounds, but different music.

covers are not about being better than the original, it's a sign of respect. dizzee is good enough to cover this song, and his cover should be respected enough as this one. it takes more skill to cover a song and make it sound good than write a song from scratch, because you've got to make it your own without ruining it and people are always gonna compare it to the original. if you listened to DR's first, then you wouldve heard it as its own song, not as a cover, which it is in its own right!
