It is a relativly old documentary (1998) however I still love watching it and are fascinated by the ideas. Im just disappointed that there seem to be many people who simply cant analyse a new idea from an objective point of view.
This could be a good idea but it has a lot of work. Right now I can not see a realistic way of changing how we are today to a Venus Project tomorrow. There is no way people could live with public transportation only. Or without "robots" doing the jobs that humans can't do or can't do as well. Yes, they have put people out of jobs but they also give jobs for building and maintaining them. This sounds really nice. It also sounds similar to the original ideology of Communism in it's most prime state. The problem with both Communism, and this project is, ironically enough, the people. Most countries have what they NEED. The have the land,water,sun, and can trade for the small amount of metal that they need. That is until gas prices soared and all of a sudden people started talking about cars running on alternative sources. So no one seeks to change until they are directly effected. So what are the trends? A man named Gerald Cellente could tell you clearly, that the economy is going to collapse very soon.
@dralavant Ive heard Cellente a lot. You must be very young. In my life we had our first gas shortage and green revolution in the 1970's. I grew up reading about alternative fuels in mother earth news magazine. In the 80's alternatives lost momentum. Humans are evolutionary beings. We don't change till evaluational pressures force us too. However having primate brains, we have developed "History" as a type of "hive memory". If we utilize this memory we are less likely to die or suffer.

Mr. Fresco does express the steps to take, but the type of steps you're expecting are physical steps to implementing a RBE, however that is not the case. The steps that need to be taken are psychological steps. That is the key component towards a RBE. No person can understand something unless shown.

You MUST have the study and physical steps - if you fail to plan then you plan to fail ! - Where are these steps? I've seen the 3 movies and about 100 videos, i haven't heard anything about the interim except we need a collapse. He needs to publish his indoctrination booklets so the world can prepare.

And you will need safe places to store the resources. You can't talk a Nazi out of killing you. You will need police/military to parcel out the food. you cant guarantee that people wont horde food. this has happened in every country's collapse in history! there must be some safe places to go to, Fresco's city's would be ideal.

It is a relativly old documentary (1998) however I still love watching it and are fascinated by the ideas. Im just disappointed that there seem to be many people who simply cant analyse a new idea from an objective point of view.

There is no way people could live with public transportation only. Or without "robots" doing the jobs that humans can't do or can't do as well. With Robots that don't need to be maintained that do the work for you and are powered by renewable energies which produce power on their own, the only thing that costs is the intsallation but it pays off after a little while therefore you don't need to pay for anything else the power will supply the robots to do the work for you.

This sounds really nice. It also sounds similar to the original ideology of Communism in it's most prime state. The problem with both Communism, and this project is, ironically enough, the people. As long as we have greedy sociopaths this will never become a reality. Those with ambition will always strive for power, and won't be bothered with who they have to hurt to achieve it.

I agree with your version of god more than most, I am spiritual, but not religious, I don't use the word god because many misconceptions. But TVP cannot possibly be any worse than the way things are now. If satan is really ruling, than I'd rather have a world with less stress, No harm to earth, no war, and no starving that's ruled by satan, than the world that is today which is filled with misery and everything els also ruled by satan. My only problem with the Venus Project is that there's too much technology. Electronic this, automated that. You'd need to continue destroying the earth just to build more unnatural things, which is no better than what the world is doing now.
My idea of Eden is to "de-evolve". Go back to living in huts, tree-based domiciles, Hobbit holes, whatever. Mankind wasn't meant to live in skyscrapers or ugly ass buildings. Live like the Children of the Earth we are! Live life the natural way.

In the Rodney king case you had people burning buildings and then attacking the fire department personnel, who were trying to save a black owned business. @javonne You miss understood I'm not Palestinian. I used that example because few would argue that they have shafted hard. If you don't use force (police/military) then how do you expect to get to the nice world? Mexico is being taken over by drug cartels, you think they wont steal all you resources? The only way you can do this is a transition period where you protect your self,land, people, resources, with force. Other wise the bad guys will cut you head off and take what they want.

The economy will collapse all over, but using force will not help. I understand your analogy of the adults are the ones who turn to more reasonable actions, while the "punks" are rioting. But again, you cannot fix a problem until you've addressed the root cause. Saying that these "punks" deserve to be left out in the cold is selfish.

There are some valid points to this statement. Currently under the present mindset the world has, people have to put down money in order to build cities and such. Why cant you start with one basket case country , such as Mexico, and build enough city's to house their poor? They have the resources. Most 3rd world peoples are ready, it wouldn't take much to get them to up grade. I wanted to build one out in Utah , but i ran in to a snag, If you have no money how do you pay your federal taxes? Mr. Fresco does indeed talk about the transition, along with other people such as Prof. Michio Kaku. This transition is the most dangerous because unlike our previous transitions, this one CANNOT be achieved through violence. We do indeed need a collapse to occur in order for people to seek an alternative. Throughout history, that is evident.

Most countries have what they NEED. The have the land,water,sun, and can trade for the small amount of metal that they need. That is until gas prices soared and all of a sudden people started talking about cars running on alternative sources. So no one seeks to change until they are directly effected. So what are the trends? A man named Gerald Cellente could tell you clearly, that the economy is going to collapse very soon.

@dralavant Ive heard Cellente a lot. You must be very young. In my life we had our first gas shortage and green revolution in the 1970's. I grew up reading about alternative fuels in mother earth news magazine. In the 80's alternatives lost momentum. Humans are evolutionary beings. We don't change till evaluational pressures force us too. However having primate brains, we have developed "History" as a type of "hive memory". If we utilize this memory we are less likely to die or suffer.

Mr. Fresco does express the steps to take, but the type of steps you're expecting are physical steps to implementing a RBE, however that is not the case. The steps that need to be taken are psychological steps. That is the key component towards a RBE. No person can understand something unless shown.

You MUST have the study and physical steps - if you fail to plan then you plan to fail ! - Where are these steps? And you will need safe places to store the resources. You can't talk a Nazi out of killing you. You will need police/military to parcel out the food. you cant guarantee that people wont horde food. this has happened in every country's collapse in history! there must be some safe places to go to, Fresco's city's would be ideal.
