  • Tina and Aretha....the larger than lifers that have made certain a unique brand of women in music has not only lived on, but has succeeded!

  • The irony of her siging that song - before what happened next happened - still cascades in and out of every black hole in outter space. The story of how she got her break is one of the best stories in the business.

  • go ahead tina

  • SANG GIRL!!!

  • 1:05 - 1:11 Proof that this woman is one of the most talented people on the planet.

  • héhe_Î_fêÊl_sÒ_loñêlÿ_todÂy

  • the queen of rock!!!!

  • Beyonce is good, but she is no where near Tina. I can hear and feel Tina's raw emotion and power when she sings. I just hear Beyonce singing....I never really hear emotion in her voice.

    Though, that's just me...

  • @CenturianRule I was saying Tina is the originator and Beyonce learned from the best...There is no way you can deny Beyonce doesn't have talent and isn't SLAYING when she performs

  • The originator of "whipping a wig" while singing live

My girl Beyonce studied from the best

  • I like this song!!!!

  • I LOVE HER MUSIC HARD TO BELIEVE SHES 71 YRS OLD THIS YEAR

  • @prestonhaskell

grooviger sound, schade, dass die Aufnahmequalität so schlecht ist.

  • My girl Fantasia is this lady's long lost daughter! Nobody rocks like Tina but Fantasia must have one of her hairstrands!

  • great shakes!

  • Are you sure this isn,t Ike and Tina's interpretation of a prayer called a fool in love.

  • Imagine your white-bread Grampa turning on the TV to watch the "Lawrence Welk Show" and finding this!

  • Watch the big tnt show with tina turner. that one is awesome.

  • Like I said, Ike Turner was abusive towards his ex-wife.

  • Tina knew how to get down, didn't she? lol

  • "Duck" Dunn on bass?

  • Ike Turner was so full of himself. He was abusive toward Tina Turner and other women, he spent his hard-earned money on drugs, including cocaine, and he was a loser. He didn't care about anyone, including his boys, but himself. I'm glad Ike Turner's dead. And may he burn in Hell for what he did to Tina and other women and stuff. If Ike Turner was still alive right now and he was 22 years old again, I'd destroy him and leave him scarred permanently.

  • @burseyb anger is a killer, dude...chill :)

  • @burseyb um -it sounds like you read that off the pages you snorkeled some personal bullshit through that horseshit history espoused

  • @burseyb i knoo ike turner was wrong for what he did .....but you still have no right to talk him down like that....did he hit or abuse you i do not think so...i think that if tina has forgave and forgot maybe you and everyone else should too....but thats just my opinion....

  • What year was this????

  • @Matthewac1 Probably around '66 or '67.

  • @bmuhamad Oh cool, thanks!:) Just a wondering.:)

  • tina turner the queen of music ike turner shit kicker you go tina

  • I love it when I find treasures on youtube. Go AnnaMae Bullock!!!

  • That's not Delaney Bramlett on bass, it's Larry Knechtel who also played piano on Bridge over Troubled Water for Simon and Garfunkel.

  • She looks so conservative and demure here, yet her energy and stage presence is pure Tina Tuner! Love this woman. This strong woman should be an inspiration to millions of black women my age - not foolish women like Nicki Manaj (or however you spell her last name).

  • @Duck1eRhys i agree with u but she is also an inspiration to white women to she is an inspiration to all women of all coulor and age but i no what your saying she is strong she is just wonderful

  • @tracytcb111111111111: Yes she should be an inspiration to all women no matter their colour - BUT white women have an abundance of women to aspire to - the women who fought in WWI and WWII - scientist, activists (sorry if I'm sounding slightly flippant, I'm having a brain freeze of major proportion) but black women have a limited amount of women - in their race - to aspire to. Except stupid role models like Nicki Minaj or other of her ilk. Glad you understood what I meant though!

  • @Duck1eRhys i understand what your saying and i agree with you i hope you have found your role model and i hope u do great in your life then one day a black woman could look to you as a great role model you dont have to be famouse to be a great role model you just have to be the best you can bye from down under (australia)

  • Awesome performance!! I can feel her energy when she sings this song.

  • Great Tina...!!!

  • Ms. Tina Turner!!!!!!!!!!!

The TRUE legend and Diva......... one and only

NO-ONE can ever touch her incredible energy and charismatic stage presence, a very powerful performing dynamo, that oozes sensuality.

As a young musician I had the tremendous privilege of meeting Ike and Tina when they were touring as " Ike and Tine Revue" And had the unbelievable experience to see them perform this Classic masterpiece........LIVE!!!!!!!

  • so intense. doesn't get better than this.

  • Wild - I just love it!

Yes msnikkinicole86 I agree - That blouse and skirt can not mask Tinas raw energy and power.

The sound, the music, the ingenuity. Damn I'm excited to hear this now let alone what it must have sounded like back then.

An awsome post - thank you

  • great , thanks for sharing

  • tina's a pleasure to look at. she is rockin.

  • what is the name of the dancer on the right with te long hair? is it toni basil?

  • I can't believe people always cite the mother**ing Supremes as examples of blacks being on TV in the early 60's... Damn! Tina Turner was 10 times more amazing!

  • @onarix His?

  • @floppybollox3 nothing my english is very bad.FORGET!!

  • @onarix Daccord, c'est rien!

  • to put my two cents in, and im not disagreeing with any other posts, im 55, so i remember seeing all the groups both black and white in the 60s on tv.

i can say that i think the "long hair" of the Beatles et al was more threatening to the white parents' status quo than your kids watching Ike & Tina, James Brown, or any other black artists on tv. im pretty sure to the parents it was just noise in the background.

  • The back-up singer in back.....is that.....Sheneneh?

  • Comment removed

  • I don't care what nobody says, Tina Turner is the both Rock 'n Roll and Soul!!! She always had more soul than Aretha!!

  • Darlene (Wright) Love is the middle singer in the background. Unbelievable to have two legends on stage simultaneously.

BTW - It's about time for Darlene Love to get into the R&R Hall of Fame.

And speaking of R&R Hall of Famers, this video shows once again just how beneath contempt Ike Turner was.

  • Is this the song on the movie where she did'nt want to do it because she was'nt feeling good, if it is she still blew my mind with those vocals!!!! TINA IS A REAL LEGEND!!!

  • she ripped this song!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG YA'LL CAN SEE ME ON HERE IN COUPLE OF IDK

  • Thanks god for "film". Thanks for loading this. It's GREAT. --RAW Talent @ it's best

  • She slays Aretha.

  • @josbo51715 I always thought she was more soulful than Aretha.

  • Tina freakkkkin ROCKS..!

  • Do you hear the voice on her? Powerful. She is singing from Deep within. Boy oh Boy did she know this would be the song of her life and marriage to Ike. This woman is awesome.

  • A driving drumbeat, solid strings and a gutteral sax, the whisper of an organ in the background. On top of that lay down the primitive, pleading, voice of Tina and those nasty lyrics -- a woman out of control and desperate because of her man's sex ("I'll do anything he want me to do"). The female backups agree (are those cheerleaders? could that be OUR daughter?) and you've a honky-tonk brew (is is funk? is it gospel?) that did scare middle-class moms and dads. Ike was a demented genius.

  • I like Tina and I know she has done a damn fine job after leaving Ike, but some of my favorite stuff is when they were together.

  • I think this is the performancing that the movie was imitating.

  • xoxoxo Diego xoxoxoxo

  • if someone performed in 2010 sounding like she sounds right here they would be thrown off of stage...

  • SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

  • She's having problems with her wig I think in this performance. There's a strand of hairs that keeps on moving across her vision. Yes, I also think her jaw is swollen too. Could this be the episode when Ike broker her jaw just before going on stage? She said that blood was pumping into her mouth :(

  • @alecsmith its is becasue she put more make up to seem like both cheeks where huge

  • @alecsmith

In some shots, doesn't it look like her eye is partially swollen or shut too? Maybe that's why she's wearing the wig that way. Also notice that almost every close up is taken to her right, nothing at all from the left, and most of the straight on shots are taken from a distance.

  • @jwz965 I agree.

  • tina i can tell u nine reasons whats wrong 1. ike

    2. is

    3. a

    4.bastard

    5.for

    6. beating

    7. you

    8. like

    9.that

  • @childofmusic1002 why do you think she divorced him?

  • @childofmusic1002 Yeah but Ike aint a bastard for making Tina famous though is he? Shallow minded prick.

  • @shawndimery Tina made herself famous.. she has the voice.. he knew it.. thats why he acted how he did.. he's the prick. How can you call someone shallow minded for showing disapproval of a man beating, punching and kicking a woman the way this low life did? Looks like ure the shallow minded one. You seem to think its excusable because you think 'he made her famous'... ??

  • @mufc1luv adhiero a sus palabras ,el hombre siempre trato de desvalorizar a una mujer ,mas si es su esposa, sabiéndose inferior artisticamente, tina una idola de todos los tiempos.

  • I did everything Tina did and I decided that it really hurts to move like that. LOL. WOW TINA!!!

  • Great

  • @bagumbax

    yawn

  • bagumbax you sound so damn ignorant I don't know any woman that can keep up a lie for damn near 30 years and even if so how do you explain the black eyes and the witness that saw ike abusing tina??? You have to be really naive to not believe her.

  • hahaha you are fail

  • am i the only one that notices this... from 00:45 the left side of her jaw is really swollen. it's sad watching this, even though she sounds really good, the pain she went through was unnecessary.

  • Tina divorced Ike in '76, so when she said she had'nt spoken to him in 37 years, she might've said 27 and was misquoted. Maybe she just did'nt want to talk about it. After all, she is a lady, and would'nt speak ill of a guy who just died. And what could she say that was good? Ike died of a cocaine induced heart attack, which is really pathetic for an elderly man. He never did get his shit together.

  • Sad how IKE lived out his days denying what he put her through then when they asked Tina if she had anything to say about his passing she said

"I have not spoken to him in over 37 years"

that was all she would say...

I cant say I blame her, like she said he can take everything but her name... she was just a fool in love with IKE!

  • @REstatebuyersClub1

37 years? If Ike died in 2007 that means she didn't speak to him since 1970. They were at the height of their fame during that time. I find that a little hard to believe, but if she said so.

  • Does anyone else wanna beat the SHIT out of Ike..knowing what he put her thru? Yes I know he's dead now but seriously, who else wanted to beat the shit out of IKE for what he put Tina thru..yeah he did get her "started" but he was an ass

  • @Txholdumplenty I would love to!!

  • Tina rocks like no one else!

  • I had to see this, the story is on TV right now.

  • she was horse on here!!

  • what i think is sad is that ike would not let her sing how she wanted.he always wanted her to sing like a man. i would reccomend the book as well

  • There is a video of this song where she doesn't want to sing until Ike comes to her and kiss her in the chick, then she starts to sing.

Does anybody knows the title of that video?

    Thanks

  • "What's Love Got To Do With It" with Angela Bassett & Lawrence Fishburne

  • @temtationeyes, thank you for your respond but is not in a movie where I saw this part.

It was actually alive in the stage.

She was in front of the band with the microphone ready to start singing but she didn't started then Ike who was plying the guitar in the back, walked to her and kiss her.

    Maybe I'm wrong.

    I'll rent the movie tonight.

    Thank you

  • Trust me hun...it is the movie. I've seen it 20+ times. It was the part she shed a tear on stage after he kissed her and she started singing "Fool In Love"

  • @temptetioneyes.

Thank you, I'm on my way to rent the movie.

  • Who is this band...too damn cool

  • classic

  • fantastic. I love how no one is still on stage.

  • epic

  • Amazing amazing AMAZING!!!! There is just nobody else like Ms Tina!!! A true legend.

  • well in the film whats got love to do with it when she did this performance he was shoutin at her to it even though she was tired and her voice wasnt up to it

  • Tina's intro sounds like a Ferrari's engine starting!!! She is UNIQUE! I love her!! woooooooooow!

  • lmao!

  • What year is this? Great song though!!!!

  • The Olly Murs versions (two x-factor appearances) are fun performances, but this is legend.

Maybe, the only person who could have got anywhere close to Tina, at the time, was the late Janis Joplin. Now that would have been a cover version worth hearing.

  • apparntly she had really bad throat on that recording, you can hear it. wish i sounded likie that when im ill

  • Wheres Ike?

  • i think he died awhile ago

  • dead, you fool

  • plays the guitar in the back

  • we salute you.xx

  • You need to get your ears checked. That corny white boy has no soul. There is no comparison between him and Tina.

  • Agreed.

  • Baby you is gooooood!

  • Tina sounds like n

    Aunt Esther backin them days..

  • Voice amazing !

  • The first Ike & Tina Turner real hit...charted the Billboard Pop Chart on July 31 (reached # 27) and the Billboard R&B Chart on August 1 (reached # 2)

  • Charting both in 1960, sorry...

  • esta es la cancion que sale en "meet the parents"

  • 1960 this is, Tina's first hit :) xx

  • YES YES YES YES YES!!!

  • pure soul! all hail the queen!

  • This must have scared the hell out of white middle america in 1965. Awesome!!!

  • @SeanTeleMan : Dude -- exactly what I was thinking when I watched this clip! Imagine Mom and Dad hearing their kids playing a 45 down in the rec room.

  • @SeanTeleMan

Still kinda scary, I mean how can somebody have that STRONG of a voice!?!? And still sound exactly the same after all these years?

  • @SeanTeleMan There still scared, but only because they love this kind of music!

  • I love Tina Turner She Rocks!

  • does anyone know what year this was

  • heard she said in another version, her first song 1960

  • Back up off a IKE TURNER and let him rest in peace. Nobody paid Ike for his side of the story.

  • Comment removed

  • one of her best performances! Ike lookin like a damn fool in the back. Delaney Bramlett on bass, Darlene Love and the Blossoms on backup, I think I saw Donna McKechnie and Terri Garr as the dancers

  • Thank you very much for your information.

  • @mookindahouse....where is Ike in the background?

  • for some reason, i love raspiness in female's voices!!!

  • wow, tina was so BEUATIFUL!!! and she still is 2 this day!!!

  • this is mi babbi not in ah sexual way i have so much respect for er its crazy butt if any disrespect er i wil hurt yu i promise and she made music wid out er music is nunhtin yu hear me nunhtin and ike bithch i hate yu wid all mi heart yu ah scum bagg old bitcyh

  • Funky, soulful....hehehehe Blacks are supertalented......

  • Ike was a creative genious , Tina was a performing genious. No superiority implied.

  • She has an amazing voice. She's one of my idols.

  • yea,you all are right.Look at the vid Ike& Tina Turner Fool In Love & Work Out Medley. She sounds much better

  • Shindig and Hullabaloo were knock-offs of "American Bandstand," but who can resist the slogan: "I DIG SHINDIG"?

  • Her voice sounds tired and scratchy but as usual she is giving you a great performance. I am sure this is after Ike was working her to death and she had no time to give her voice a rest. Also Tina is the Queen of Rock and Roll and Aretha Franklin is the Queen of Soul. Two different genres of music from two different performers and singers. Thanks for the post.

  • She just gave birth and had a rough time. she didn't want to perform but Ike made her and she was in pain during the entire performance. I remember this from "what's love got to do with it" LoL

  • This is the time when she was sick in the movie?
