  • I would prefer the B777 , also Egypt Air livery is the best I have seen so far.

  • A very nice and enjoyable takeoff to watch. The sound(s) was great and awesome! Great job!

  • One of the most beautiful airliners.

  • Comment removed

  • It most certainly is the A330-200 I work for Bmi and that's our lovely beast, Antigua stopped as well as Chicago, this blue monster is currently being borrowed by Turkish airlines and is their livery.

  • dats not an a330 u idiot!

  • @mightyjammyd123 yes it is

  • i still think the 777 is better

  • amazing

  • @javadkani1112 no. ur stupid. this is an a330.. go check ur facts

  • Lufthansa is utterly destroying this airline.

  • @TheMarkOfTheBeast1 totally agree!

  • Shamu!

  • Looking back, it was uploaded on my birthday and i do think its amazing engine sounds

  • 1:37 hey hey,,, where are u going??????

  • Beautiful plane! :D

  • its like a blue whale

  • i USED TO WORK ON THAT!! 5 YEARS AT BMI ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!! GREAT PRODUCT ONBOARD CHEF ETC!!!

  • Did you leave by choice? or were you part of the many redundancies?

  • they only have 3 of those planes

  • and getting rid of 2 :(

  • really, why?

  • @kirillkhassine94 im not sure it sais it on wikipedia id say the recession

  • A DC-10 looks like it was put together in someone's backyard and as it's early history showed it held together like it was too.

  • @Rachieleful

Well, yeah, I'd give you that :-) but MD-11's are much better-looking and flying...

pitty there have been some accidents in the recent past with those, as well...

  • lawl...agreed.

  • nice video.

airbus aircrafts are so ugly, eurgh.

Give me boeing, lokerheed or MDs anytime

  • Fantastic bit of filming.

  • The Rolls Royce Trent 700 Series spool-up sound is awesome...nice video

  • Where is that? The only places that the bmi 330 seems to be is Isreal and Britain.

  • That is Manchester Ringway (MAN) They operated to Chicago and Antigua with the A332 until recently when they ceased the Chicago flight (Not sure about Antigua)

  • A nice blue and white whale! The next time I go to Europe, will travel on British Midland!

  • hey msezza, your wrong.... the af 447 wasent operating with a333 but a330-200!!!!

    nice vid

  • Does anybody know where I can get a 1:400 scale BMI A330, i have been dying to get one, but cant find any.

  • sorry closest i could find was a bmibaby which is not really useful sorry

  • haha thats k thanks anyway, I really hate to advertise or ask for things on other peoples videos but this time. I really wanted one! :P

  • oh god~ may they all rest in peace~ all crew and passengers~ and may the investigation comes to a right conclusion that will help relieve the pain of their families n friends and/or will save many other people's lives in the near future!

  • Hey... blueinuslite... It wasn't even the same type of aircraft. This is an A330-200, the Air France was an A33-300. This BMI is powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Trent 700's, whereas the Air France was powered by 2 General Electric CF6's. The BMI aircraft and it's engines are much better.

  • That is good. Thank you for your information.

  • June 1st update: and yet an A330-200 has been reported to dissapear from radar just outside the coast of Brazil on its trip from Rio Janeiro to France~ i really hope they have all landed safely somewhere

  • They didn't =(

  • Unfortunately !

  • there was a bomb threat at this airport the day this plane went missing. And now Brazilian Military are saying the pieces they are finding are not of a a330.

  • Garbish!

  • which engine does this A330 use anyone knows?

  • Clues in the description. They're Rolls Royce Trent 772s

  • there are 8 new A321's due, 1 320 is due to go bk this year. the livery will be standardised soon, however it's not seen as much of a priority compared to spending a lot of money on resolving ife issues on board and the new lounge opening at heathrow.

  • Agree ! nice bird

  • That "whining" on the Trent 700 is so nice, I love that noise, you can feel the power! LOL

  • Couldn't agree more :-)

  • Yes that's true lol

  • KLM uses the exact plane but with GE engines which can be easily noticed by the shape of the engine, which one has better performance?

  • The RR are better, they sound better, and are more efficient. They are also more streamlined! LOL

  • The GE however is more efficient in air less dense then the RR so cruising uses a little less fuel but more on the climb. Lbs of thrust though is almost identical.

  • I LOVE cyprus airwats a330. go on it all the time. any of u seen it

  • fly babey fly............awesome.....

  • nice colour!

  • i love a330 RR in all ways, but when i was in klm a330 which is ge, dnt mind the sound seats are comfy its just that on landing when the first wheels touch its ok but when the whole main landing gear touchs its hurts

  • that nice, unique rumble then high pitched wine of a rr trent.

    Nice

  • oh ok...yea a340 has more leg room cause i've been to the same airlines once on an a330 and then on an a340.... =)

  • a330 is nice...but i prefer a340...super comfortable..cheers! =)

  • but i prefer a340...super comfortable.

You realize a330 & a340 come off the same production line and have the same fuselage, right ?

Any perceived difference in "comfort" will be due to the specific airline's cabin configuration, seats, leg room, IFE equipment etc

  • It makes u wonder y people cant control cars! lol

  • A330 is a nice aircraft

  • Thats wiked m8, my dad is a senior bmi captain, he operates outta heathrow. he dosent fly a330 but he flys a321 a320 and a319

  • really? ask him which is better, the A320s or the B737s and tell me his oppinion

  • Sorry bout the delay (he's been flying for ages!). He reckons that he likes the airbus best because he likes the modern controls, however, he does like the 737 because he flew them all the time for the old briitish midlands, he also thinks that the 737 is much bettr at dealing with crosswind.

    Theres ure answer

  • :( Just returned from Chicago with BMI and flowning there with them great airline shame to see them go.

  • They are gone?

  • Heard that Manchester is losing the BMI transatlantic flights come Janurary. Big loss for the airport however, Lufthansa are to operate more flights to Germany for people to transfer onwards from there instead.

  • ah, what a lovely sound!

  • Yes catch these lovely beasts whilst you can as they'll be gone from Manchester come April 09 :-(

  • Dam shame that the BMI's A330's are pulling out of Manchester to come down to London.

  • The BMMI livery is one of the best next to Monarch(new) and thomas cook

  • Bird got worryingly close at 1:00

  • what a beauty, airbus are seriously the best for commercial airliners.

  • Pretty plane, but very slow to start!!

  • thats because its a huge, and very heavy aircraft, not a ferrari

  • It looks slow because of its size. The acceleration is quite tremendous actually.

  • Naomibaybey is right, our A330 with that delivery only flies from MAN, ONLY to do the Antigua, Barbados, Chicago or Las Vegas routes. The other A330 does the Saudi Arabia route with the Star Alliance delivery on it... It is ONLY rear when you see it at LHR because of a fault with the other a/c.....

  • isnt this one going to Saudi Arabia ?

    i think so

  • its either going to Antigua, Barbados, Chicago or Las Vegas. Because these are all of BMI's long haul destinations from Manchester.

  • i think it is goin saudi because im goin saudi arabia in 2 weeks. and ive seen the ticket and im goin with this plane

  • Manchester Airport. Quite close to where I live.

  • beautiful, but the A330 of qatar airways is.... terrific, fantastic

  • Yes, bmi's livery doesn´t suit the A330 so much.

  • That thing is huge...

  • its butifull ist it?

  • Im flying on this exact plane in a few months going to las vegas from manchester, its nice and big lol :-S

  • BMI should get A340-300

  • nice, how the hell did that thing take off! lol

  • The power of 2 RR trent 772 engines.

  • Thats just ear candy lol

RR spool's are just the best.

  • Found BMI ground staff in Dublin very helpful and fast, which gave me plenty of time to enjoy a nice big Irish breakfast in the departures restaurant. Mind you BMI could offer complementary tea or coffee on the flight to London.

  • Video taken at Manchester Airport ( MAN )

  • where was this video taken?

  • Manchester Ringway International, UK (EGCC)

  • I love the RR spool up!

  • i have been onbmi before to palma and it was good on theway there flight meal wasnt that good because i dnt really like cooked breakfast but on way back i liked it cos it was a day flight so we had a meal ect....!

  • The odor is the inflight meal, and no matter what aircraft ure on it is always bad, lol. Especially the breakfast, the smelly eggs! OMG, it knocks me sick!

  • I flew on an A330-200 to Addis Ababa with KLM economy class even though it felt more like business class. Nice seat tele in front of you with music, films, games the lot planning to fly again as soon as my budget allows.

  • itsnot klm its BMI...your a DULL

  • most major airlines which operate intl flights have tvs games, etc in economy now. The best economy in the world as voted by Skytrax are malaysia airlines. I have been on them a few times, they were amazing.

  • Great Aircraft, love the colours, took me to Barbados And Back in September 2005, best flight ive ever been on, best aircraft ive ever been on too! Love the Noise!

  • hahah..BMI is nice outside but if u go inside its has bad odor, then if ur in the air u can hear not a normal noise its a different noise

  • Rolls Royce trent music. Lovely. Thanks.

  • I dont like the paintjob. the plane looks MAD!

  • Great video - where did you film it from? Doesnt look like the Viewing Park, looks like a really good spotting point!

  • lol that bird at :57 just randomly flies by. That made me laugh.

  • Fantastic aircraft The A330-200, been on it a few time myself.

  • It looks like the video has had its aspect ratio changed, the aircraft looks somewhat squashed in length and width. The real thing looks very elegant. Rotation speed is approximately 140-155 kts (160-180 mph or 260-290 km/h).

  • It depends very much on the weight of the aircraft, weather conditions etc. Many a times the actual rotation speed of the aircraft can differ by 20 knots.

  • Nice to hear those Rolls Royce engines milling up to full power.

  • And Urm

    A330s Look Like 777's

  • A330's have Winglets, and 777 has more landing gear.

  • How do you work that one out?!?

  • Is that East Midlands Airport?

And i swear the pilot was staring at you

  • I think it is Manchester airport. You can see Concorde on the Aviation viewing park opposite the camera as the plane is taking off

  • Yup, that plane looks like he's sulking. probably coz of the long flight he's got to fly.

Although it probably goes at 100+mph during takeoff it looks like it just crawls into the air.

  • It was probably around 150-165 mph

  • It looks like this fat boy i saw waddling down the road with a sad face on

  • it looks like a whale not happy with its Body Mass Index!

  • that looks like a grumpy aircraft! heheeh
