It most certainly is the A330-200 I work for Bmi and that's our lovely beast, Antigua stopped as well as Chicago, this blue monster is currently being borrowed by Turkish airlines and is their livery.
That is Manchester Ringway (MAN) They operated to Chicago and Antigua with the A332 until recently when they ceased the Chicago flight (Not sure about Antigua)
oh god~ may they all rest in peace~ all crew and passengers~ and may the investigation comes to a right conclusion that will help relieve the pain of their families n friends and/or will save many other people's lives in the near future!
Hey... blueinuslite... It wasn't even the same type of aircraft. This is an A330-200, the Air France was an A33-300. This BMI is powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Trent 700's, whereas the Air France was powered by 2 General Electric CF6's. The BMI aircraft and it's engines are much better.
June 1st update: and yet an A330-200 has been reported to dissapear from radar just outside the coast of Brazil on its trip from Rio Janeiro to France~ i really hope they have all landed safely somewhere
there was a bomb threat at this airport the day this plane went missing. And now Brazilian Military are saying the pieces they are finding are not of a a330.
there are 8 new A321's due, 1 320 is due to go bk this year. the livery will be standardised soon, however it's not seen as much of a priority compared to spending a lot of money on resolving ife issues on board and the new lounge opening at heathrow.
The GE however is more efficient in air less dense then the RR so cruising uses a little less fuel but more on the climb. Lbs of thrust though is almost identical.
i love a330 RR in all ways, but when i was in klm a330 which is ge, dnt mind the sound seats are comfy its just that on landing when the first wheels touch its ok but when the whole main landing gear touchs its hurts
Sorry bout the delay (he's been flying for ages!). He reckons that he likes the airbus best because he likes the modern controls, however, he does like the 737 because he flew them all the time for the old briitish midlands, he also thinks that the 737 is much bettr at dealing with crosswind.
Heard that Manchester is losing the BMI transatlantic flights come Janurary. Big loss for the airport however, Lufthansa are to operate more flights to Germany for people to transfer onwards from there instead.
Naomibaybey is right, our A330 with that delivery only flies from MAN, ONLY to do the Antigua, Barbados, Chicago or Las Vegas routes. The other A330 does the Saudi Arabia route with the Star Alliance delivery on it... It is ONLY rear when you see it at LHR because of a fault with the other a/c.....
Found BMI ground staff in Dublin very helpful and fast, which gave me plenty of time to enjoy a nice big Irish breakfast in the departures restaurant. Mind you BMI could offer complementary tea or coffee on the flight to London.
i have been onbmi before to palma and it was good on theway there flight meal wasnt that good because i dnt really like cooked breakfast but on way back i liked it cos it was a day flight so we had a meal ect....!
The odor is the inflight meal, and no matter what aircraft ure on it is always bad, lol. Especially the breakfast, the smelly eggs! OMG, it knocks me sick!
I flew on an A330-200 to Addis Ababa with KLM economy class even though it felt more like business class. Nice seat tele in front of you with music, films, games the lot planning to fly again as soon as my budget allows.
most major airlines which operate intl flights have tvs games, etc in economy now. The best economy in the world as voted by Skytrax are malaysia airlines. I have been on them a few times, they were amazing.
Great Aircraft, love the colours, took me to Barbados And Back in September 2005, best flight ive ever been on, best aircraft ive ever been on too! Love the Noise!
It looks like the video has had its aspect ratio changed, the aircraft looks somewhat squashed in length and width. The real thing looks very elegant. Rotation speed is approximately 140-155 kts (160-180 mph or 260-290 km/h).
It depends very much on the weight of the aircraft, weather conditions etc. Many a times the actual rotation speed of the aircraft can differ by 20 knots.
I would prefer the B777 , also Egypt Air livery is the best I have seen so far.

You realize a330 & a340 come off the same production line and have the same fuselage, right ?
Any perceived difference in "comfort" will be due to the specific airline's cabin configuration, seats, leg room, IFE equipment etc
