I have been to 5 of their concerts and their voice sounds just as brutal live! also I personally know the singer from Morbid angel Vince who sings just the same way and I have seen them rehearse live on the studio which is own by Ruttan, a pleassure Im pretty sure you can't have! and no, there is no effect.. they scream using their stomach or guts how they call it and it takes a lot of practice...

I feel sorry for anyone who tries to fill in for Roddy - it's not so much that Roddy is the best drummer in the world ("best" is highly subjective), but that Roddy had a very unique and complex style, which he pushed to the front of his sound. Reno is just a vanilla "fast" drummer. I just can't see him pulling off Roddy's signature moves, such as "Faceless One" from "I , Monarch". One gets the impression many of those songs were written _around_ Roddy.
