Okay so iv downloaded everything, did everything you said to a T, after it is done downloading and updating it goes to that black screen and never changes over, iv given it plenty of time and waited, iv left it to sit for hours and it never goes to the game. ok so it has been working for me.. im at the update stage, crashes while updating sometimes but i just restart and it continues, I had that problem with a pc version too... but I can not find the directory where it installed the game.. lol i just open the wineskin that i used to install it and it starts the game. I wanted to find the directory for addons, when i installed it, it said its going to install in C:/program files/runes of magic and so on... well mac doesnt have a c: so where is it..?

If your wondering why the RoM client isn't working, it's because when you make the Wrapper file, your supposed to drag the Runes of Magic.exe file onto the Wrapper file. THEN Runes of Magic should start downloading.

Thanks for the video, I am getting a problem that it seems other people are getting. Install/update goes perfectly but when it load all I get is the background. No where to sign in - just the background and landscape of the river/waterfall. I've ran the install process about 3 times now. I'm sure what's coming up is the end user agreement but I cant see it and I cant accept it. Anyone having the same problem and have a solution?

well i managed to get it installed but now the same problem occures with the patching :/ and always at the very end of the series of patching. then i have to shut it down forcefully and restart again at the beginning to patch.
this doesn't work for me. i downloaded the slim version and the full version and both give the same mistake when i try to open the installer. it says the installer ran into a serious problem and needs to be shut down and so it does. then wine goes oops! no input, guess the installer failed. i've tried redownloading the installer but i get the same mistake. i used the WS7wine1.3.23 and installed everything i needed to. i'm on Mac OSX 10.6.8 4GB ram, 2.66 ghz intel core 2 duo. any advice?

@foxtrott001 I too have a problem with the mouse. Anytime I hold it down to turn, it doesnt stay where its suppose to. This however doesn't prevent me from playing, but rather it is just an irritation. If you have windowed mode, just try to keep in mind where your mouse is. If you accidentally go off the game screen, it will go crazy.
Right now I am in the middle of moving, and I don't have time to play with Wine to find a solution. :(
@Keawolf Hi, Keawolf. I managed to fix this problem, but I can't remember what I did, atm, so sorry. I messed around some on the graphics and stuff on Wineskin. You should try it. Just try and see what happens.
@Keawolf Ok, I think I've come up with a solution to the mouse problems. I tried to use the engine WS7Wine1.3.22 and I ran vcrun2005, vcrun2008, wininet and ie6. It works perfectly. You should really go try it.
@foxtrott001 I had this same issue and was using Wine engine 1.3.20, but I changed it to 1.3.18 and it worked. I believe as long as its above 1.3.17 Runes of Magic will run

@oboebbanjo The only other thing I can think of for this issue is verifying the volume files on the Mac, and or reinstalling RoM. But it's an odd problem since the game itself actually comes up, but not the interface. It might be possible that you missed one of the four winetricks, but I wont assume anything since we are dealing with an unstable version. The next thing you could tell me is which kind of Mac you are using.
Did not work, it says that an serious problem occures when im trying to start the game, should i try to re-install the game? and do i attach the RoM launcher to the RoM wrap ? :P
So far its working, im on the patching, never got this far, i got a 57 rogue which i have to check on again, i also want to talk to my guildies. When im patching an error occures now and then, but i just keep patching it , and see if it works, did this happen to u ? :P
@olixxen Sometimes, you will get an error about it asking you if you want to continue running some sort of script or not. I just ignore this error because it is referring to some issue with Internet explorer to load the launcher images and links.
@th0rim Wineskin will work with just about any PC game, but you may have to do some searching for other players that have used a wine method to get a specific game working.
Does the black screen take 5 minutes to go away every time you open RoM or just the first time?

I've researched the 'No EULA/Login Box' glitch. There is hope for some of you, and for others the only option is bootcamp.
One thing you can try:
Under Winetricks > Settings:
Select GLSL disabled
Select Multisampling enabled
If these options still do not show the EULA/Login screen you can try Winetricks > Settings > GLSL enabled.
As it stands Legacy ATI cards are SOL, you need bootcamp.

@foxtrott001 I had this same issue and was using Wine engine 1.3.20, but I changed it to 1.3.18 and it worked. I believe as long as its above 1.3.17 Runes of Magic will run

@VHigh9 This is just how I got RoM to work for me. It's completely experimental for other users. This is why I stress everyone to post bugs, errors, and other problems with it.

@Keawolf Does the audio work for you, because it doesn't work for me. If it didn't work in the beginning for you, how did you fix it, and if it did work from the beginning, any ideas how to fix it?

What happens when the patching is almost done and then it says error please close and try again will i have to download whole game again then try again?

I did everything by the directions it all patched fine and all but when i loaded it then i came up but the confirm for the agreement or log in didnt come up what wrong?

@oboebbanjo Did the white or black screen come up at all? When this happens, you have to wait a good five minutes before the log-in screen appears.
If this is not the case, please post more details on your problem.

@Keawolf Well yes it all came up the game loaded the music was playing i could see the background and everything it all seemed good but. the terms of agrement or login never came up

@oboebbanjo The only other thing I can think of for this issue is verifying the volume files on the Mac, and or reinstalling RoM. But it's an odd problem since the game itself actually comes up, but not the interface. It might be possible that you missed one of the four winetricks, but I wont assume anything since we are dealing with an unstable version. The next thing you could tell me is which kind of Mac you are using.

At the patching. 3.0.2....something it freezes. It says nothing and is doing nothing... Any one knows any solution to this problem? :/

@DjZtamp The patching SHOULD NOT start below 3.0.5.2262. It starts at 3.0.5 and moves up. 3.0.2 is an older patch and game version.

Did not work, it says that an serious problem occures when im trying to start the game, should i try to re-install the game? and do i attach the RoM launcher to the RoM wrap ? :P

@olixxen Can you be a little bit more specific? When does this error occur, and what does the error say exactly?
Does this happen during opening of the launcher, or the actual game?
And yes, you have to have the RoM wrapper connected to the Runes of Magic.exe

So far its working, im on the patching, never got this far, i got a 57 rogue which i have to check on again, i also want to talk to my guildies. When im patching an error occures now and then, but i just keep patching it , and see if it works, did this happen to u ? :P

@olixxen Sometimes, you will get an error about it asking you if you want to continue running some sort of script or not. I just ignore this error because it is referring to some issue with Internet explorer to load the launcher images and links.

@th0rim Wineskin will work with just about any PC game, but you may have to do some searching for other players that have used a wine method to get a specific game working.
