The discussion of looks,race,stage presence and personality is secondary to that voice,melody and rhythm sense and genuine artistic emotion. Even if you don't like the looks of her,it's about the music,not the looks. Imagine an LP with that voice and the right tracks and arrangements and if you say that wouldn't be acceptable,then you don't know jack shit about singing and music.

(This is coming from someone with punk roots, but I still think it's in bad taste to petition for approval, (the point of these shows) and then be all attitude when it doesn't go their way).

Also many of the runners up on these shows do get contracts and careers out of their auditions and performances, so it's a win all around, even if they aren't the 'big winner'.
