First lets start by clarifying something... Some of the things that the "doc" says are facts, however some of them are just his OPINIONS. He says that flat panel displays are only hung on the wall to be "cute." Well, let me see you hang your DLP over the fireplace!!! My 55" plasma only weighs 85 pounds, and just to clarify, it is a gas fireplace (so no soot), and due to the heat, I don't use the fireplace when the TV is on. You can only watch one at a time anyway.
How wide is the color gamut of your TV? The good news about LCD nowadays is that RGB backlight can have a super wide color gamut...
I love the DLP technology but don't like the rainbow effect of the color wheel. I've never liked that effect and it's always noticeable as far as I know. It's still a mystery to me why plasma screens have a similar rainbow effect (that seems to be yellow/blue instead, not RGB separately).
Cock suckers talking shit about DLP, Dont comment stay with ur LCd, I am buying a 73" DLP and having my PC hooked up to it. Stick with ur shitty flat panel and enjoy white overdone white and grey black and regular coilor, I will enjoy Plush plush beatiful colors and replace my buls every 10k hours and love it! Also save 7k on price and also not give a fuck about depth. Have a gay day!

Just trashed my DLP after the bulb blew out. Got a new LCD for little more than the cost of a new DLP bulb. DLP has gone 8 track, except for in projectors, and they will be replaced in time too.
Your comment below means your a fag! You stupiud fuck. People like you are everywhere though. Dumb ass, Look at a side by side comparision. You obviosly have a flat screen and want to brag about it. I can easily go out and by a flat panel now, But I WON'T and never will DLP has more colorful and crisper IMAGE and will outlast your POS flat screen by far! Stupid fuck head!

um dlp's are terrible tvs, unless you live in a cave with no natural light and are sitting 30 yards away. Also projection is terrible when you have couches on all sides, since any none adjacencies will give you unwatchable quality. Theres a reason why dlp's start at such absurd sizes; since the bigger the dlp the less of a chance you have at getting unwatchable side blur. This wacko doc hale is obviously a dlp salesman and wants to sucker in idiotic consumers.
Plasma sucks ass. When it starts lookin YELLOW after 2 yrs then say something. Cant even play video games PLASMA. DLP is way better then plasma and lcd. Feel sorry for u plasma and lcd owners who will be throwing away your tv in 4-5 years. Whats the use of having a flat panel if your going to put on a STAND??? LOL stupid people. Just to say u got a flat panel? LOL. DLP rules. Bye.
@ubangiestomp Well It worked amazingly for about 1 year until I got caugh for being working illegally in the States and I got deported. :O LOL. Just kidding.
It has been working just fine. Not issues at all. Still works as well as it did the day I bought it. I play PS3 on it and I love it. I don't know about blue ray. So you might want to ask someone else about blue ray.
@chaconmcfly Thx for the reply back.Been looking at reviews on DLPs on here. Some good and some bad.Mostly because you have to replace the bulb.Thats no prob for me though.Thx agian.p.s. Have you looked at the Laservue Mits.Too bad their over 3 grand though. Then thats what I'd be getting.
I did my home work as well and have looked at all of the pictures side by side and read most of the forums and this guy is absolutely 100 % correct I have an 8 year old Mitsubishi and never had one problem with it so next week I will be buying the wd-65734 from fry's for about $1800 and it will blow away any LCD or Plasma and I will have an extra $ 6000 bucks left over to buy an ATV...
DLP does give you great screen size for the money, but DLPs have crappy off-axis performance and silk-screen effect. At least he chose the Mitsubishi, which are the best TVs out there. Yes, they are better than Sony.
DLP gives about as perfect picture that the eye can determine. I agree that the older DLP technologies were poor. Go look at one of these sets and come back. No silking and no tiling.... inches in front of a 74" screen...
Off axis of the 6 color 65" DLP appeared to be better than my existing 65" Mits Diamond CRT projection TV.
So far I have not been hurt too hard with my Diamond CRT projector's off axis performance. Small room so I have about 6-7 foot viewing distance. I can still fit 7 people on the sectional couch to watch movies comfortably.
If I recall the Mitsubishi sales clerk said 120 degree viewing angle. But I could be incorrect.
Saw one of these 6 color DLP's with blueray. WOW! This really is the ultimate TV. DLP's used to be fuzzy and inferior to other technologies in the past. But now... they got it!

dlp is nice... but one problem with rear projection is 1. for a big screen... u have to sacrifice space.
2. viewing angles are still not the greatist.
front projection issues 1. bulbs cost an arm and a leg, and dont last very long
2. you need very good light controll in the room... no lights at all.
plasmas just fail. i will leave it at that
LCD: lcd's are lean mean gameing machines. no screen burn, perfect for pc's and look good, and you can fit a 42 inch in a 12x12 room (like me)
