What is a petroleum engineers normal schedule ? I am considering this career, but I just want to know the usual time petroleum engineers spend away from home, and how many back at home?
Beautiful video, look forward to studying I just really don't understand a petroleum engineers schedule. Whats the normal days they work and number of days they have off?
hi I am back, is it true that it is really hard when u go find a job in an oil company as a petroleum engineer? some of my friends told me that it s not depend on what you know, but who you know? is it true? please give me some experiement before I decide to go for Petroleum or Phamacy
@LP98036 if your going into it do instrumentation or process. im doing instrumentation and its gonna be easy to get a job cause they are in short supply
today one of my intructor at school said that not so many people want to get in Petroleum engineering field anymore. I dont know why and I dont know he s right or not, but it seems like petroleum engineers make a lot of money though
you should maybe try applying for an apprenticeship cause im in my second year and will be employed by one of the major oil companies when i finish cause its a garanteed job. But im not sure if you get them in the US
Thank you. The only reason I am worried that it s really hard to find a job after graduating or laying off stuff..I am in Baton rouge where a really huge Exxon company located, but somebody told me that USA wants to keep oil for themself and r trying to buy oil from other countries, so a lot of people are laid off from work..I am kind of worried as a petroleum engineerer in the future. Can I have any advise ? Thanks
I am wondering if I should go for petroleum engineering or chemical engineering? Could anybody help me out, please. This is my big problem now, I am in second of petroleum engineering
Im in petroleum engineering and i wanna tell you that there is a big difference between petroleum and chemical engineering. petroleum engineering is all about how to get most oil and gas with the least cost , for example like drilling and so , however chemical engineering is more concerned about the production and the use of oil and gas . basically chemical engineers are the engineers that make machines for chemical reactions needed maybe for medicine or whatever product that needs it
it's not about isolating friends or family, it's about your curiousity and decision. if you really into it, it's time. Petroleum is the most advanture career; you'll find it big business in future.
Right now I am situated off the Bay of Galveston working in offshore seismic exploration, and I can tell you that besides the good pay, it is an experience that you will never forget......!!!!!
