very nice...but can you make the hockey player in red and with with a winged wheel on it so it has a chance of winning? LOL Just kidding mate, they are awesome.
Very Nice! I would like to pieces like these myself but find myself to busy ekeing out a living clowning doing fairly small stuff. Any hints on how to get into the market doing the big ones as a demonstration type show as you do would be greatfully appreciated.
@bluetheclown Really there is not much of a demand to do these large sculptures. But every now and then you will have a client that will want one or some of these. Just let them know you can do stuff like this. Most of my work is probably the stuff that you do as well. I just like making large scale!
@BalloonMagic12 Very Sorry I never received notices for these posts and I have not been here in a while. You can sit on the motorcycles, but only because there is a stool built into it. Still fun to do though.
Yo Mark. It's Jason from Philly. I found this slideshow randomly. It's cool to see a lot of your work up here. I never saw your truck and the mods of it. All good stuff. Hope you're doing well.
does not answer the question of how to sell pieces like this. winning a contest is one thing but being commercially viable is another thing all together. you can't go around relying on contests' as income all the time. even the best fall down sometimes.
Sorry if I offended you by not answering but I thought you were just comenting not really asking how I sell them, please forgive me.
Anyway I don't always sell them I do it because I like to do it some people sell paintings for money and some do it to just paint for fun.
I sometimes work venues where I create sculptures like these and people watch me create and sometimes they will find it interesting to see what can be done with balloons.
I know the TRex won first place at DiamondJam and that was a prize of 5000 dollars. Also you would use these to promote sculpture work and decoration business.
Yes, it did win at Diamond Jam but the prise was only $1000.
I do use my past sculptures to show what is possible to do with balloons and to see the size and detail to help promote balloon displays that I do in Malls or large events.
Sculpting I find is the most rewording as it is usually original work and it can be very challenging, it is kind of funny but the first time I usually make something it is my best work, the next time seems to not be as good.
My mistake, I was there in 2007 when you won that thing. I even voted for you. I could have sworn the prize was 5000 bucks but I guess you would know better than I did. I didn't make it to 2008 but I plan on being there for 2009 and I plan to compete against you Jeremy and the other big dogs. I look forward to competeing against you friend.
