  • Yay! Thanks for posting this. I wrote this arrangement for the Marching Chiefs. The slow intro was part of a Western-themed show in 1984. I did the up-tempo arrangement in 1991 for use as a stands tune.

  • @thurstonrs Wait a minute did you say that you wrote the arrangement? Wow!! *(he gets down on one nees and bows.) LOL

Did you attend FSU? Listening to the CD now have new meaning to me since i had borrowed it from the bad director Mr Keen. I liked it so much that i never returned it. I found out he had died recently so now the CD. brings back the memories. He loved 3bands. Chicago simpony /FSU/ and his own.

Do you have any lost music that you can share with us youngsters?

  • @Tampa0123456789 I marched in the Chiefs from 1977 to 1982, and I was a graduate assistant in 1991. I've done a couple of arrangements for the Chiefs most years since the early '80s. I'm sad to hear about Lonnie Keen. I met him only once, but he seemed like a good man.

  • @thurstonrs Thanks for your work! I really wish this would be played more often when the defense takes the field... nothing says "game on" like this arrangement.

  • awesome. Any sheet music available for this?

  • @duder154 Sheet music? Hmmm good question. I don't know since a lot of these schools seem to write their own stuff.

  • this is awesome!! i had no idea chiefs played a longer version of GBU.
