@budmangt2 Well, he didn't do practically ALL the music back then (there were people like Lennon and McCartney, Holland and Dozier, Bob Crewe, and Jerry Ross, King and Goffin, Greenwich and Barry, to name a very few), but this DOES sound rather rather Spectorish...

I like their version better as well. I think that it's a shame that the art of putting 3 minute symphonies on dto disc has disappeared. Todays so called chart music pales considerably by comparison. Bring back the Good days and Thank God for this website.

The Goodies were another girl group on the Red Bird record label at the same as the Shangri-Las. Each group recorded versions of THE DUM DUM DITTY and SOPHISTICATED BOOM BOOM. Both songs were produced by George Morton.

Just rumors they always recorded as the shngri las.Tey were also rumored to have recorded as the bon bons.
