I really like serious animation like Patlabor and Ghost in the shell but I'm glad that there are animated movies like Robin Hood and The twelve tasks of Asterix , too. Watched them as a child and still have to laugh uncontrollable from sequences like this. :) Every child should at least have a look at these classics.

I really need to watch this again :) I didn't know Sir Hiss hypnotised King Richard; so the snake had a bigger role than I thought :) . Well that's what I've been hearing from comments and from reading the films plot. In fact at the end I just thought King Richard merely returned from a crusade; I had no idea he was on it because of Sir Hiss' hypnosis.

This was the best Disney animated movie of all time in my opinion for all of the adult humor it it! I used to laugh my ass off as a kid when Prince John got all raw on Hiss, and now that I'm almost 30, Sir Hiss is still the ultimate smart ass!!! I love him!!

I was a little confused but, what did Hiss do wrong that Prince John was trying to hit him with the stick? I know that it was actually the Sheriff of Nottingham who got the castle on fire and not Hiss. Was Prince John trying to hit Hiss with the stick because he thought Hiss got the castle on fire or, he was just trying to hit him out of anger because the castle was getting burned up? (Of course, Hiss didn't do anything to the castle since he reminded Prince John from 0:11-0:13).

John finds him annoying for being an "i told you so." Thats how I always saw it. also, throughout the film, hes always taking his anger out on him.

Good point. I guess John didn't like it when Hiss reminded him that the castle was on fire. Also yes, I remember him getting angry at him and using forceful words at him through the film while hitting him. I know John probably found him more annoying whenever he would be hissing in his ear. Probably in the beginning of the movie he tried suffocating Hiss for hissing in his ear which was when Robin Hood and Little John disguised themselves as fortune tellers.
