1. drain water with a small pump commanded by a electronic ordinary scheduler (controller).
2. add tap water through a hose with a electro-mechanic valve (I'm used a washing machine valve) commanded by a electronic ordinary scheduler (controller).
Level sensor is connected in series with electro-mechanic valve.
Total cost (Romanian suppliers) approx 80Euro (320Ron)
I would also like to know the materials and general directions used to create the system you put together. We have been researching an idea like this for a while, for our 2000gal. pond setup(with large glass front) housing our arapaimas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i cant view your technical scheme link. the discussion in romanian link you said also blocked. glad if you can upload the tech scheme again and update in this video details.
thats awesome, i just baught myself a 180 gallon tank, i would really be interested to know how you made this system, would u be able to send me the directions?
Howdy! Awesome setup! I've been researching online how to do something like this and happened to bump into your video, and think its great! I tried going to the website where you posted your schematics but was unable to open it. Would you mind emailing it to me? jerodriguez05 at gmail. Also, I saw that it had a floating value that you use as an overflow safety cutoff. Does this also address water evaporation, like auto top off, or can it be incorporated into your system? What are your thoughts?
@nerdyrcdriver hi! happy '12 year! I try to do another video about my very simple and extremely cheap DIY system, which I use. Hope this month have some time...
Very nice setup I might say! I am now planning the setup for my new tank (250 l.) and I would like to make a system like yours. Unfortunately I can't access the technical scheme that you have given a link for. Will u be so kind to send it to me on my email pipo334ATyahooDOTcom. I have some other questions as well.
@FlintSparkedStudios Thank's. It's working ... fine, if don't have voltage fluctuation, otherwise you must change bulbs frequently. But in my theory is not a must, if you buy healthy fishes from certified sellers ;)
@leo33romania Thanks for the response. I have a much different set-up it's a freshwater vivarium but yes I'm certainly going to be more careful where I get my fish from. I once made the mistake of getting a fish from Wal-Mart! A simple goldfish but such a unique look. I made the mistake of not quarantining it and went camping for two days. Came back to what I believe was an Ich epidemic!
That is sweet. I hate changing the water. Of course you have to have the plumbing where the tank is set up. Is that a custom setup. I've bought stuff from marinedepot but have never seen that before.
@NewEnglandgardening Yes I have tap water and drainage near, behind wall it is a small kitchen. In house I have another aquarium, smaller, and obviously I use the traditional hose... :)
@hotlips4000isback2 Hi! I just pre-filter through carbon and cotton filter, the tap water. No other addition. In fact, small quantities of chlorine are good in aquarium because keeps low level bacteria. Furthermore I have UV filter and UV radiation decompose chlorine.
Man! Nice looking tank! I like you dog too haha. Thats really cool, could you send m a message on how it works and what you used? Thanks. Subscribed for more!
Yes, I have. This is the reason that I mount 3 filtering canister on tap water pipe - Nylon/Active Charcoal/Cotton. On the other hand, chlorine is good in aquarium. Best regards.
@rashiidefukazumi : drain with a small fountain pump (the black one showing in first part) and white hose. I have the drain pipe at 2 meter behind the wall.
@rashiidefukazumi : hi! for "conceptual scheme" :) look here: img197.imageshack.us/img197/8855/schimbapa.jpg . Legend: retea apa=water pipe; E-solenoid (valve); Sn=Level sensor; canalizare=sewerage; pompa=mini/micro fountain pump; Nmin-maximum level/quantity of water that u want to change; Pa=programmer for tap/clean water - command E; Pe=programmer for draining water - command pompa.
@treetom77 hi! You can find the entire story and scheme here: discus-club.ro/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1424&start=10 (if you know romanian :) ). Timer is no name (I think). Something made in China (I buy from adelaida.ro at 10Euro)... But any digital timer is ok. The light installation is hand made. I can tell you about fluorescent lamp if you want. It's made by Philips.
@irenedanny618 If you refer to aquarium, it's "home made". The cover is made from black komacel. The water change system it's also diy. External filter CristalProfi e1500.
