The "Dark Ages" are called so due to lack of historical sources, not the loss of human knowledge.

Also, the Church didn't burn intellectual works, they were actually the sole maintainers of those works. Ancient Greek texts were heavily integrated into the educational doctrine of the era. Medieval theologians had to develop doctrines to justify the use of texts written by pagans entirely because of their value.

@klemenmikus I've already explained to you there was no setback. The Church is why we are where we are today. You have to divorce the notion of a continuous Church within the Medieval period. The Church had two sides, one which was involved with the everyday life of peasants/people (poorly trained priests/witch hunts/etc.), and the central hierarchy, into which theologians and intellectuals were accepted. This central hierarchy made major scientific breakthroughs, and preserved human knowledge.

Stryper were never a christian band , they even admit they used the christian tag to sell more records and get noticed in a secular music world .As far as mustaine hes not selling anything ,hes not telling you to become a christian or believe what he believes .He is simply making his viewpoint known and he knows the score and still has the back bone to be individual and stand out from the herd regardless of who thinks what of him.

For some people, Dave Mustaine come out as "intelligent" individual and for many who are basically illiterate on many different subjects, he may come out as so. He does have interests in so many issues and he does have some knowledges. But problem with him is that he's very naive in the sense that he doesn't know how to connect some of his knowledges and make some intelligent conclusion about the subjects. This video shows that his mindset is in the equal level of those from Medieval Europe.
