  • A good effort.

For information, the transcription of the entire Oscar Peterson piano part from his 1953 recording of Tenderly, including the complete block chord solo and rubato intro and ending is now available at jazznote.co.uk

  • Cool ! :) even i prefer martinez version ( this man is a genius ) i love your version ! :)

    very good job ! :)

  • thanks! i've gotten better at this since then, sounds horrible on my awfully out of tune piano...

  • u shoulda put a more jazzy ending rather than the ending you gave it.. but its ok..

    nice job

  • very nice

  • Nice work.

Hey, I enjoyed your version of Tenderly. Tenderly is by far my favorite song by Oscar, and I've always wanted to learn to play it like him. I think Jim Martinez did a good job documenting it- and you did a pretty nice job picking it up too!

Any chance that you transcribed the part you recorded? I've searched high and low for a transcription for Tenderly, but have found nothing.

  • this is the third time I've tried to reply to this, hopefully it'll work this time.

I agree Jim Martinez is incredible! And this has to be one of my favorite songs also.

I haven't transcribed it sorry, but I could easily do so with the software I have on my computer, although a lot of editing will be required after plug my keyboard in and transcribe it. I'm not sure if I'm ready to do that yet, but I might in the future, I'll talk to you and let you know.

    Thanks for the nice comment!
