  • I love hearing the bones and shit just crack

  • Good sharp knife..............

  • not a bad idea with cuttin the breast bone i always use a knife

  • No BS, no gimmicks. Simply a Great video. imo, one of the best i have found yet. Maybe someone could even do a voice over on some of the techniques more in depth. That could make this video even more informative. All in all, i'd love to see some more vids. Thanks guys.

  • A little creepy to start with, but overall a great teaching video,.

  • damn fine job. someone know how to dress a deer

  • ready to get made into taesty parts fukin eh men

  • I prefer to use a golf ball, 4-wheeler, and 550 cord....but I'm a loose cannon who likes to save time.

  • What are these poachers? Who leagally hunts in the dark?

  • @liam13coins

In most states, you can start hunting before sun up. Me and a bud go about 430 am and get done by about 7, if we get anything that day.

  • @liam13coins at around the 7 min mark, you can see the sky in the background... looks to be dusk. deer was probably shot before dark and possibly found after. Not Illegal.

  • That's a great idea using the crib to get the skinning started. pain in the ass trying to saw legs off on a swinging, spinning deer!

  • nice dressing there im going to do a little copycatting with that bench for the deer if you don't mind ?

  • that is more than a field dress my friends. good job. you can see how a good sharp knife and good deer positioning help out. a fresh small doe or fawn speeds it up a bit as well tho over a stiff big ole buck. but it aint about speed it is about technique. good vid

  • man is that thing small

  • OMG that is the awesomest thing ive ever seen, and the faster ever. good job!!!!

  • why do you have a heat lamp beside all you antlers?

  • Is it O.K. to remove the skin like that if you are not going to butcher it up right away?

    Thanks...

  • I'm building a trough, that thing works great.

  • Now THAT right there is how it's done boys. Good job man and nice vid, just needed more light. My next step is to build a bench.

  • Just about the worst dressing of a deer i`ve ever seen....

  • why wait til you get home to gut the thing out??? gut it where you shoot it, then you don't have to dispose of the gut pile. Its easy skinning a deer this fresh. I'm not impessed, but it was different watching it done on the trough.

  • It's sooo funny how you can put up a perfectly good video and dumb people just chime in.. Great job on the dressing of that deer.. Especially it being that dark out.. Very fast... n that's no baby....

  • That is one small deer. It looks like a baby.

  • Comment removed

  • must be nice and easy to clean a such small deer while in a t-shirt. i would have never shot that deer

  • Good Jobs!!! You're good... I was just wandering though: what do you do with the hide... I mean do you prepare it somehow and just keep it, and if so, how do you do that? I looked a bit, and to be honest not very hard, but I didn't find anything on the subject matter.

  • Impressive skills, I would one day like to hunt and field dress a deer.

  • hes a fuckin master

  • nice job!

  • Throw a little horror music in the background... with this lighting and some mood music, you may have a best selling horror flick (j/k)

  • Throw in some hot screaming chicks too!

  • Ohmigod. That was ridiculously fast. I bet it was delicious, too.

  • i dont know where to start..??!! for some strainge reason i wanted to see some thing like this. im from La Ca and we dont hunt over here.. but to see the way the dude took the deer and hooked it up, was a treat.. im not one of those "peta" people, and i dont 'bash' people that hunt, after all dont i eat meat from the store? and to see this.. wow, i wish i had the chance to hunt my din-din.. good job dude, only one question... did the deer suffer when it was shot? can you explaine this? thanks..

  • @reye35 well, depends on where you shoot it. but deer go into shock very quickly as they are timid animals. so the pain doesnt truly hurt them because they are too scared. if you shoot it in the head, heart, or vital organs, it dies almost instantly, feeling minimal pain. also, since it isnt as developed as humans, it has fewer nerves so it feels even less pain

  • That was quick, great job - I learned a few things. Nice setup too

  • Give that deer head CPR hurry

  • @MrWolverine777 I was tempted to stuff the hide and head with sticks and straw and prop it up in an open field by the road.

  • @ScrtAznMn You should have that would have be funny. That is halarious watch a hunter take a shot at it that would be great

  • field dressing is removing the entrails in the field. thats why it's called "field" dressing. i'm from south carolina too just about everybody can do this, and every one has the trough! cool vid, though. reminds me of home!

  • I think it took him less than 8 minutes. LOL! I count from the time he put the deer in the rack, and put it in the freezer. ANd I think it was less than 8. Awesome job. Like one of the other commentors said, better lighting would have been nice, but it was just cool to see done, and to see it done so fast. Very nice!

  • Damn he's good..

  • wow, a true master @ work. wish i could have seen that in the daylight.

  • Great job, proud of your work. Wish our muleies were that easy lol. Oh shit I just noticed Its dark outside and your deer isnt bloated and its skin is still fresh enough to peel easy. I know nothing! lol

  • does human skin come off that easy? It should be not to bad if its still fresh right?

  • wrong! you need to boil them first (not to hot) then you can just peel it off. Dumb ass read the f**ken manual! guess you didn't get the memo asswhipe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG what was i thinking! OF course you should boil first, thank you for the tip friend.

  • just trying to help. do you have any good recipes? lol

  • that was awesome. great job. super fast

  • That trough is a great idea!

  • the background noise and dark lighting make this look more like a horror movie lol

  • @bwinterb I know, huh!?!? The sequel is "field dressing a human behind my barn, in 8 minutes" :)

At least he wasn't wearing a hockey mask while dressing the deer XD

  • @bwinterb haha I was thinking the same thing! Like something out of a Rob Zombie movie.

  • his daddy taught him well !

  • that was great I have cleaned over 75 deer and that guy is good,

  • Nice Job.

  • I think he did a find job, but you really did a disserves to him with NO LIGHTING on the video....and to those who are criticising, he is field dressing a deer not butchering it.

  • I do have another video of his dad doing the same thing the next morning. He used the same technique, but took his time. I'm forever apologising for the lighting (sigh). That's what I get for stopping my drinking binge to follow a guy out back and videotape him working on a deer!

  • I can field dress a deer in less then 5 minutes using a skinning knife and a bow hunter's tree limb hack saw that folds up just like a knife and hangs on my belt.

  • good Girl ! heres a gold star !

  • Funny how some people talk all that on YOUTUBE but in real life probably have never even seen a real deer or touch a real one before.

  • small fuckin deer

  • go fuck yourself.

  • man my first deer i cleant took me 4 hours cause my dad, handed me the knife and saaid go, its trail and error, by the way, he cut out alot of meat when skinning it

  • In many parts of the country, people do not field dress a deer, at the place it was killed. For an older person, this method of using a deer sled, as we call it, is smart and much better than mucking around in the woods. If you are ten minutes away, and can put your deer on a pickup, why not use a method like this. If you are in the middle of a large farm, bend over and get after it.

  • This guy has dressed lots of deer. It is not that easy.

  • I can not believe this gets 4.5 stars. Its dark, hard to see, nothing is explained and its NOT field dressing.

  • the speed

  • Very Interesting although definatly NOT field dressing unless you hunt under your back porch.

  • That dude is legit

  • Yeah this is cool to watch, and "Good Job" but this is not "Field-Dressing". I cant do this in the "field". After shooting your deer you gut it or "Field-Dress" it in the field, you later , after getting it back home can skin and break down the deer.

  • this^

  • zebra tastes like chicken: white meat/dark meat/white meat/dark meat. :-)

  • I have been hunting with these guys for three years. Bruce (guy in video) can actually do this in 4 minutes!! I know! I timed him myself! Great bunch of guys!! Great job!

  • This video proves you can always learn something, no matter what your age. As far as the comments about the deer size, hello!!! I do not think this guy is concerned with that, he is simply trying to convey a method of performing a troublesome task that few look forward to, after the deed is done, Great job

  • thats what i like to see no talking just get it done

  • WHY did you cut the Flank Steaks off and pitch them in the Gut Bucket?

That is such a waste of good Deer Meat! Deer Flank Steaks might not be big like off cattle, but they are good and should be added to the Burger pile!

  • you should do another in the day

  • this guy is the best.........this works for zebra too.

  • wtf does zebra taste like?

  • looks like hes done it a few times....

  • THANK U GOOD VID,

  • Looks like they were trying to hurry before the game warden came.

  • lol

  • guy is a pro

  • MAN, what a great job,I,ve learned something new here. Make a trough!

  • looks like a 70 ponder still good eating

  • How does deer taste never had it might try it though

  • like heaven exploded in your mouth, yah its like the second big bang...haha

  • you gotta be fast when you pouch you see a tag truck to freezer the faster the better

  • Would love to have seen this in the day light, great work though.

  • Damn, this guy is good ! Not sure I understand the comment about cutting the legs off looking bad, the finished product looked no different than a lamb at the butcher shop, besides...ya can't eat the legs !!!

  • im not trieng to be a anti hunter here but your making the field dress look like a bad thing wen you stared to cut the legs of i think that was not needed sorry to say

  • Average live wieght for a adult buck is 150, doe 110. A 300 pounder?? Insane. I have seen bucks in the 200's and this is Wisconsin we're talking about. Grazed on corn and soy and wheat, dam near cattle.

FYI Heaviest deer ever taken was 1926 in Minn. dressed 402lbs, estimated live weight of 511lbs. I would have loved to seen a pic of that brahma. you're on the web already check it out if you don't believe me. Just imagine putting the crosshairs on something like that!! whew!!

  • You know when I counted the time, it took 4 m 48 sec to skin the deer, but only took 46 sec to gut it. I was counting from first cut to finish of cutting. This is a great job, I will have to get me one of those troughs.

  • That deer is not that small if you hunt west of the Cascade Mountains & that's a slick dressing job, but it isn't a "field" dress if you do it at home. Way better than I can it though. Nice job.

  • damn guys! thats tiny. good meant though. Its different out here in AZ. Killed a buck last Dec that weighed 311 dressed. freaking massive body!

  • Hell yeah, Cheech. 100 lb. doe up here hasn't dropped her first fawn yet. I was hunting Kankakee River State Park last year, a guy pulled out a mature doe that dressed out at about 130. And no doe limit means a full freezer real fast.

  • There's enough blood left in the muscle for taste, but I always hose out the cavity. It gets all the innards out including bile just in case I nick an intestine while I'm gutting it. Awesome idea, that trough though. I just may make one for myself.

  • You gotta give the guy credit well done ,A++

  • hmm...Ive always heard dont use water on the meat..coz the aroma of the blood thats on it is good for the taste? :)

  • OMG u guyz r dumb u did it all wrong i seen it dont in a min and a half and it was dont the right way lol

  • He said that weighs 100 pounds? In Illinois, deer that weigh 100 pounds still have spots.

  • never seen someone skin a deer before it was guted out thanks for the vid!!!

  • Come up to Ohio were the deer are bigger than southern german shepard size deers.

  • Is that an invitation for a hunt?

  • @ScrtAznMn id take that offer

  • I'm an Iowa resident for tax/voting/hunting/fishing purposes but currently reside in Georgia. Lemme tell ya what. I've shot and seen some nice deer in Iowa that make this one look small but down south there's another trophy that's more wary and has a better nose than a whitetail. That's called a "HAWG". Unless you shoot one hunting over an automatic feeder, those things are tricky buggers to pursue.

  • @bobbrode314 I use to live up north born and raised and the deer are the same size BUT up north you all don't have Elk. I lived in both the south and mid west so its not as if I am playing north vs south. deer is deer antler size is what really matters

  • Very neat technique. My back is usually aching when I dress my deer and this appears to let gravity do the work. Skinning looks like a snap.

  • Where do you learn to do that?

  • i live about an hour from florence in Fort Mill......SC-huntin town

  • wtf its real dark out what where ya doing jacking deer

  • Yep..that's how we do it in S.C.....most of the hunting clubs in Carolina do it that way!

  • Awesome video but whats up with that background noise sounds like the menu from carmageddon 3 lol

  • You are great thanks, i changed my method and now im a lot quicker

  • This guy has talent. Well done, brovo man. You are a deer hunting god.

  • That was grim! Keep up the good work! BR00TAL

  • That was real intense man, ain't never seen it done like that before, puts me to shame, but right on man..

  • great job man! i do it like this too but i dont have the little table. well it was an awsome job man keep it up!

  • nice, wish i could have seen it a little more clearly but still good.

  • never seen it done that way but looks like a real smart way to do it. I might try it. THANKS!!!

  • fuck they should have completions ha ha!

  • then show a video of urself doing it.

  • Good job, no BS, just "get-er-done". Lighting could have been better, but a good job!

  • awesome job im pretty quick and it takes me at least 15 minutes to gut/skin

  • haha nice jacked deer how many u guys get about 20 a year? haha nice job 5 stars

  • I've never asked Leon how many deer they harvest per year. I just remember he was given a sheet of about 50 deer tags from the SCDNR to cover the population on his property. He did say they never fill all the tags they are alotted. If you're looking for a reasonably priced hunt with a guaranteed success (providing you are a decent shot), send him a note.

  • what knife did u use?

  • I thought I addressed this before, but the guy doing the work was using a Browning field knife (no gut hook). If anyone from Browning would like to send him an ednorsement check, please contact me.

  • lol how would you like to tick off that dude in a dark alley?

  • very interesting technique... ill defiantly give that a try next deer i shoot...

  • I think the key to doing this quickly is prep. Have a winch and a stand available to assist with the cutting. I've done this on the ground and it really stress your back to bend over a deer carcass while working!

  • this reminds me of the texas chainsaw masacure

    (srry fo spellin)

  • im thinking that was only his second deer that he has handled.... HA...

    Solid!

  • that was a good video, and i wish you peta and all you so called animal lovers stop killing all the nice green plants that you all eat and go get lost in your on little world. People Eating The Animals =PETA

  • people eating TASTY animals

  • lets eat some people too

    they might be tasty:D

    lol

  • Tastes like pork. Diet determines the taste and level of greasiness.

  • lol you tried 1?

  • No! But I have read accounts of folks who have tried it many times. Also a reason why it is called "Long Pig" by the polynesians.

  • i have never seen any person start like that

  • its okay

  • Nice job on the video but iv seen german shepards bigger than that deer. Here in ohio we dont get deer smaller than 150 lbs.

  • same thing i was thinkn... i dont shoot "dogs" as we call them..

  • Ha, so they come out being 150 lbs. at birth? Wow, you guys are badass. Gimme a break...

  • LOL actually there born at 151 pounds...exactly lol

  • Great Video on one hand, Im interested in hunting... But I have to add some humour to this..

This kind of reminded me of a Salem's Lot Movie LMAO with Barlo going to work LMAO... Dark kind of a Grimey look with fellow vampires standing by :P

On the other hand that was quick and impressive by far the quickest ive seen on youtube by far..

  • Isn't that one way of spreading E coli. 0157:H7 when gutting the animal? The Bile splattered everywhere.

  • I wonder if he could do it faster with banjo pickin music a playin? This is pure technique demonstrated by a real mountain man.Great video.

  • You have some skills man. I hope to use some of your tricks next time. 8 minutes is awesome. I've spent 45 minutes making a bloody mess of everything before. Very good dude...

  • that was pretty good work i was impressed

  • great video....wish i could keep my knife that sharp!!!

  • Pot, meet Kettle.

  • That was great I have never seen anybody clean a deer that fast.

  • bad ass video..

  • that was nice!!u should show us how to cut up the meat in steaks...

  • what do you use to sharpen your knife man

  • I asked him last week what kind of knife he used. He does not remember. Today, he is using a Browning hunting knife with gut hook. He just processed a nice fat doe for me last week and it still took him 8 minutes...or less. Not sure what he uses to sharpen his knives.

  • In NC and some other states you don't have to tag deer. I don't know about SC but in nc you just mark your report card and you have 24 hours to call the kill in.

  • Last year I was issued tags (in the mail) when I got my license online. This year, they told me I just needed to have a valid SC hunting license in my posession. It is not reasonable to keep tags on a deer that is being cut up. If anyone needs a tag while hunting on his property, the SC DNR sends him a book full of them each year and hopes that he kills enough deer to fill those tags - he never does. They are an infestation to the corn, cotton and soy farmers. Anyone wanna hunt?

  • lol the dude is fast with a knife...but too fast you cannont tell me this was a legal deer.

  • Dude, you do realize that the whole point of this video is to show you how do gut a deer fast, right? Maybe that is why he is "too fast" with the knife.

  • Looks like he's done it hundreds of times.

Wow. It takes me that long just to get a couple squirrels skinned & gutted.

  • Well, this is by no means "field dress"...

One would not carry a hacksaw and air compressor to his hunting trip(not even rent such things).

Field dress means that you use portable hand tools such as a hand axe and a skinning knife.

  • taht was awsome and fast learned a lot> NOW for you idoits who have never got your own meat SILENCE!!! go get your dominoes now you know where the meat comes from Giligans!

  • the beast hunting is right before sunset iv ben hunting for 25 years and out of the hundreds of deer iv shot iv only got maybe 15 percent in the morning

  • i would have let that one go and wait till its at least bigger than a DOG !!!!

  • It's a shame that people like you breathe. What a fucking loser.

  • TAG????

  • HAHAHA - Order Dominoes !

Get the MeatLovers, so somebody else butchers all the animals they ground up on your pizza. I'm sure the beef packers do it with respect . Go back to your tea garden

  • No respect, he just tore the skin off the deer like the deer was just a piece of trash.
