TBH all the in game models need an update. The T3 ships graphics look a little bit off, it's like the textures that were used on them are different to the ones used on the old ships. It's a very subtle change but it's there if you look hard enough.

The new model replaces the old, all current scorpions and scorpion hull based ships will change and bpos will produce the new model.
