@girandpiggy52 I've found, in my experience, that judging/scoring at a recognized show generally tends to be a more competitive, and yes I'd say more precise, than that of a schooling show. My test scores from one schooling show judge to the next were not always consistent. I keep in mind that some schooling show judges may be new and/or gaining experience, so they may not score as acurately as other judges. I like to go to schooling shows for the experience...
...with less pressure, more fun and lower costs, and I get an idea of what we need to improve upon (my horse acts differently at shows vs. at home.) This year, we decided to give First Level a try. We had a long way to go, so I stuck with schooling shows this summer. I plan to do some recognized shows in the spring (after training our buns off this winter) and will be curious to see how we do.

is the scoring at recognized shows more specific, or should i say more precise or exact than small organization schooling shows?
