i don't know what you're all complaining about, I love Dragon Rising, and no game can beat it in realism, but red river is also awesome, because i bought it for about 30€ and its totally worth that money....

The AI is even more dumbed down, the missions are more scripted, the level design more restricted.. they've added perks, sticky aim, unlimited magic health packs, and the graphics and overused bloom is still there aswella s bugs and glitches.

If you want a fairly fast paced and not ultra realistic shooter, that gives the player a lot of freedom and choice, buy I'd recomand Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad. It doesn't require a supercomputer to play either.
If you're looking for a extremely realistic more slow-paced shooter, I'd recomand arma 2, but it requires a great computer aswell.

When I play the game in any random time of the mission the game starts to freeze tahn unfreeze and then freeze again in like 2-3 second and that keeps going for a long time its realy realy anoying and it's stoping me from playing the game and the game is realy cool the first FPS wich allows you to custom class in single player please if you can help me do so. This preview was cool and all but nothing like the real deal.
For starters once you get on the bird the muzzle of your weapon never leaves the deck even while loading it. And loading doesn't even happen untill just before take off or 1 to 2 minets before touching down at the LZ.

hmm you know, is it just me or do most video games never capture the emotion before a battle, I mean this trailer pretty much shows it, the uneasy mood of young men and a bit of fear - I mean the closest to this in an air calvary entry was in COD 4 - and still that didn't really show the emotion ... i mean it would be cool to have a game where you get to know the men around you like mates before you go out... give the public an idea of what these poor guys have to go through

Where there are no energy shields like in Halo. Where gravity actually affects shots. When we say real we don't mean the storyline or the plot of the game, we are talking about the physics.

My point was simply that Red River isn't a realistic shooter. Operation Flashpoint: Cold war crisis - the first operation flashpoint - was developed by Bohemia Interactive, not Codemasters, and yes, it was realistic - it was a combat simulation.
However, Red River isn't realistic at all. It's more in line with COD/battlefield.
I hope they fixed the horrible friendly AI that was in Dragon Rising. The only time my squad was helpful was when I used them as a shield while I ran for the landing zone. I can't remember them ever killing anything, and the medic would ignore my commands to heal people.
i hope this game doesnt have bugs in the campaign like dragon rising did cause last time i played it there was no patches now my friend is telling me he has to update every day

It doesn't even have map editor, sdk, helicopter piloting, tank and apc commanding, multiplayer etc.
And it lacks in realism. It lacks in being OFP.

And it's just something more then just a "song from a movie" (usually people talk like that about the songs that got famous because of the movie\trailer\commercial, and it's something more, man)

With the old game the game looked nothing like the trailers at all. Hopefully this one will be worth something. I'm one of the few people who love realistic shooters but come on the last one was awful.

@FLGator26 Ditto. Love the idea of a realistic shooter but that last one, Dragon Rising, was shit... Will rent this one though. Give it a chance but i'm not expecting much difference.

@RedRiverChannel Realistic meaning like it doesnt take a whole clip to kill someone. Where there are injuries and you dont heal by standing still like in call of duty. Where there are no energy shields like in Halo. Where gravity actually affects shots. When we say real we don't mean the storyline or the plot of the game, we are talking about the physics.

Exactly, where you don't stand like in call of duty, or like in red river; praising in front of a health pack.
My point was simply that Red River isn't a realistic shooter. Operation Flashpoint: Cold war crisis - the first operation flashpoint - was developed by Bohemia Interactive, not Codemasters, and yes, it was realistic - it was a combat simulation.
However, Red River isn't realistic at all. It's more in line with COD/battlefield.

I hope they fixed the horrible friendly AI that was in Dragon Rising. The only time my squad was helpful was when I used them as a shield while I ran for the landing zone. I can't remember them ever killing anything, and the medic would ignore my commands to heal people.
