Thumb-chording has been done by many great players in the past. I think the old blues guitarist Furry Lewis did that. You should check out some of his stuff on YT. Wild!

hahaha i have difficulties and an undersized thumb. people call them toe thumbs... i just call them one of a kind ;)
for some reason, i have issues when it comes to getting the E cord with my actual "playing fingers".
thankfully, i have found alternatives :0
