the idealogie behind the riots in berlin is that they celebrate the day of the workers (= 1. May)
but these days there are not just communist on the streets batteling with the police,
the turkish,arabian and others came just to fight for fun because they are aggressive and the german politics do nothing for foreigner kids. its like in america with blacks and latinos.
i guess these kinds of demonstrations always used to be somekind of "liitle battlefield". i dont think that in former days everyone took it too serious aswell!
